Chapter Eight : Party Crashers

     When we both stepped in, we decided to split up and go change. Once I had changed into my dress and fixed up my hair, I was going to go and find Natsu when I heard someone scream my name. I turned to see Levy, Wendy, Lisanna, Erza, and all of my other friends. Grinning, I jogged up to them and joined them. We complimented how pretty each of us looked, then we danced like no one was watching.

     After a little while of fun, I went to go and get some punch. While I was drinking it, someone tapped my shoulder. When I turned around, I spat my drink out in utter shock.

     "Happy, what are you doing here!?" Lo and behold (in the cutest little tux I had ever seen, mind you) was the blue cat. I wasn't surprised at the stares he was getting, because not only was he at the party, he was using his wings to get around.

     He smirked at me, shouting over the music, "Aye! I couldn't just let you two have all the fun!! Besides, Carla is here! ~" I raised an eyebrow.

     "Who's Carla!?"

     "The exceed, stupid! You're telling me you don't know Carla?!"

     All of a sudden, a white cat with wings like Happy's flew over my head and stopped next to Happy. She wore an adorable little dress and a grimace on her face.

     "H-happy?! What are you doing here??"

     "Carlaaa~~ I came here just for you!" Happy purred. "I even brought you some fish!"

     He dug into his pocket and pulled out a handful of tiny minnows. Carla, obviously mortified, flew away at full speed, with Happy in hot pursuit.

     I looked after them, shaking my head and grinning. After a few minutes of chatting with friends, eating concessions, and partying, all of a sudden the fun, jumpy music came to a halt. I was confused for a second, but immediately understood when, slow, romantic music began playing through the school gym.

     My heart skipped a beat, and I looked around to find my friends running around and laughing, looking for their dates. I decided to go find Natsu, but right as I was about to search for him, someone grabbed my shoulder.

     "Excuse me, miss... can I have this dance?"

     I turned to find a guy that I've never seen at Fairy Tail High before. I couldn't help but find him slightly attractive. He had blond hair and a long, thin scar across one eye. He was also wearing an expensive-looking black tux and a devilish smirk on his face. I don't know why, but he made me nervous for some reason.

     I looked nervously at the strange kid. "Uh, actually, I was just looking for my friend, so if you'll excuse me..." I tried to walk past him, but his tall, masculine body barred my way.

     "Do you mind?" I tried to sound angry and annoyed, but my voice shook. I backed up to the point where my back was against the cold gym walls. The guy grabbed my wrist and whispered, "Let's go somewhere more private, shall we?"

     "L-let go of me!"

     This is really bad!

Natsu's POV

     I grimaced, looking at myself in the bathroom mirror. "Happy, I dunno know about this..."

     I had borrowed a tux from Gray (he wouldn't wear it anyway, he'd just strip it off). It took me a real long time to put on this thing, and Happy tried to help me with the tie, but it clashed with my scarf so I took it off. Of course I kept my scarf on. I'd never take it off. After all, it was a gift from my old man, and I wasn't planning to take it off anytime soon. I looked over at Happy, who had just snuck into the party earlier to put his clothes on.

     He was busying himself by admiring his own tux in the mirror. "Well, whatever you think, I know I look perfect! See you, I'm going to go find Carla!"

     He summoned his wings and bolted outside. I guess I should find Lucy, I thought. She'll probably be looking for me.

     I walked out of the bathroom, and I flinched slightly at the music because of my sensitive ears, but I quickly brought myself back together. I managed to spot Gray in all the chaos and flashing lights, who was leaning on the wall.

     "Oi, Ice Breath! You seen Lucy anywhere?" He rolled his eyes at me.

     "Wow, you lost her? I'm not surprised.... I think I saw her somewhere over by the consessions."

     I gave him a thumbs up, and he nodded his head once. I began wading through the crowd of people. Suddenly, the music stopped and some slower music came on. Lots of people started to dance with their dates, making it harder for me to get past.

     Finally, the concessions came into view. I was a bit taller than most of the people, so I could see Lucy standing there, sipping on a drink. I was kind of surprised, because she was in a fancy black dress and her hair was up, so she looked really... different. When I began nudging past people again, a guy in a tux with blond hair came into view near Lucy. I saw him grab her wrist kind of forcefully, which really grabbed my attention.

     I glared at him, and I knew instantly that it was Sting. He was a kid who dropped out of my old school a few years ago, and he's always doing stupid stuff like this. Picking up chicks, drinking, hanging in the wrong parts of town... he's really... dangerous.

     Dangerous. And he's near Lucy... she's going to get hurt!

     Lucy looked scared, I could tell. She tried to pass him, but he cornered her.  I managed to see him grab her wrist and slip out the gym door before they were gone.

     Frantic and enraged, I started shoving people to reach them.  I received a few gasps and scolds, but right now, I didn't give a damn.

     Nobody's gonna hurt my Lucy!!
