Chapter 1

In a town west of Sydney lies a school full of secrets, mystery, lust, rage, betrayal, galore. and it all centers around one band and one band only, 5 seconds of summer. they are up and coming, trying to make their dreams come true but during their time away from band practice, they face their worst enemies; girls. will they face through all of the complexities and drama that comes with the package deal?

(January 21st) I sit there in front of my vanity. just sitting there. staring at my whole face studying it. i look up to adjust the pictures of my friends and i, hanging on the mirror. "I wish i was back in Michigan" i drop my hand down on the desk and sigh. My first day at a different school, different city, different COUNTRY. ive always admired Australia but i didnt expect to ever move here before graduation. moving in the middle of high school is literally the worst possible thing my parents could put me through. but my dads whole career rides on this move and i have to put a smile on my face. i quickly fix my hair and start to walk to school. the bright side, its almost always warm here and thats a nice change. i put in my head phones and begin to just enjoy this while it lasts.

everything was fine until a kid running bumps into me. So much for peace and happiness. i scoff and walk into the crazed school. everyone was being so destructive and already annoying but i try to hide it. Locker 620. i open my locker but i cant help to notice a grinning girl. "can i help you?" i ask as i put my books in my locker. "youre new here" the girl says smiling. "and is that a problem??" i pause and looks over at her. "My name is Olivia. Im locker 618" she reaches out to shake my hand. politely i shake her hand but i then quickly look at my schedule. "not to be a bother but do you know where AP Chemistry with Jensen is?" i ask showing her the room number. "nah but i know someone who is in that class. i'll call him to have him meet us here." I sat there and talked to olivia while we wait. we got along great and she was very... out there. our convo stopped when a group of people came to our locker. i saw a girl on one of the boy's backs, one boy is pretending to drum on another's backpack which is obviously annoying him and a cute couple holding hands. but her stomach dropped when she saw the boy who was holding hands. they all walked with such confidence and like nothing in the world was a bother. it was breath taking. "Abby meet Michael, Ashton, Luke, Gabriella, Brandy *pauses* and Calum." i look at Olivia when she said the last name. she smiled but quickly hid it and looked around. "um so im assuming one of you are in ap chemistry with Jensen?" i say still staring at olivia worryingly. "yeah thats Luke. he can lead you there!" Says smiling Michael patting Luke on the back and pushing him towards me. 

the first bell rings and everyone starts to head to class. Michael and Ashton begin to race down the hall, pushing people over and tripping over their own laces, Brandy jumps off of Calums back and waves bye to everyone. lastly before luke could say anything, Gabriella steps forward, sizing up abby, pushes luke to face her. She grabs his shirt to pull him quickly in for a long, deep kiss. "um alrighty then. i'll miss you too?" he says in shock. "bye babe." she says staring at me with a mocking grin. "a little protective i see" i say grabbing my bag. "Who Gabriella? nah just REALLY loving." he says laughing and scratching the back of his head. i tried not to stare too much so i began to walk. "So where are you from?" he asks as we walked down the halls. "Michigan." i respond. "im gonna be completely honest, i have no idea where that is but i can tell its in America through your accent." i laugh but still being my somewhat reserved self, i continue to not look at him. "you know, my friends and i are in a band." he says jumping in front of me walking backwards. "oh really?" i say intrigued. this time i actually made eye contact with him. "yeah! you and olivia should come check us out sometime." he says turning around to open our classroom door. "yeah... maybe" i quietly respond and walked in the class to take a seat.

as everyone left to go to class i turn to pretend i was getting my books. in the corner of my eye i see calum head to the locker next to mine. "whoa what are you doing?" i watch him. "this is my locker, 619. mine got jammed way too many times." he says then puts his books in. "oh... well im Olivia." i say shutting my locker. "i know." he smiles. he had this very humble aura that drove me wild. "i- uh i wasnt sure if you knew me since we never had a formal intro--" i got cut off. "its cool, olivia" he shuts his locker and begins to walk away but turns around to slowly walk backwards. "and im Calum. see you after class" he smiles and turns back around to continue down the hall. i stand there frozen but my face is hot and i somehow forget how to function. i put my hand on my head trying to grasp reality and then quickly head to my class. well thats a start i guess.
