GUMBALL'S POV
I was sitting in my cell just staring at the ground. I couldn't believe I sat there and lied to one of my best friends. I had to do what I could to protect Fionna and Marshall, I wasn't about to let either one of them get hurt. I put my face in my hands, I hope everything just works out the way I planned, if it doesn't I may lose my kingdom but more importantly my friends.
I hope I can rely on Lumpy Space Prince to deliver that message to Spruce Goose, I need the map to find those jewels, without them all of this would have been pointless. I had to lie to Marshall and Fionna both, it's best not to tell them and have them mad at me and not wanting to talk to me, than have them be caught up in this mess. Marshall and Fionna could be eliminated if the royal council found out they had any contact with me at all during these experiments I've been conducting.
I don't see why the Council ordered me to do this; I'm a scientist not a wizard. They want me to make a serum that could give them everlasting life and power. It's scientifically impossible, I can't say no to the Council, nor can I run away they have people everywhere; they would be able to track me with no problem. They told me to do this under top secret security, but I insisted to do it in my lab.
I wish I never got caught up with that- that she demon, she said I could get my hands on any ingredient I needed for my experiments, but instead I was tricked I should have known better than to trust an old bag like her. All I had to do was get the gem of a thousand demon souls from the Nightosphere, but I had to do it alone. I had to get in the Nightosphere without getting caught by anybody there, not that it was hard (which it wasn't). I should have known it was a trap the Royal Council has been "requesting" for years for me to make this serum, now in order to save my friends and my crown I have to listen to them.
When they get here tomorrow they are going to let me go, but they will put on a fake trial to make it look like I've been sent to a maximum security dungeon. That means I will have to work non-stop to get it done, but I need to make sure they don't get suspicious of Marshall, Fionna, Cake, and BMO. I have to make them think they were all a part of the experiment, which is why I lied to Fionna and Marshall both. The only ones I'm worried about are Cake and BMO, they might tell them differently. Hopefully they will just investigate Fionna and Marshall and just go from there, the Council hates wasting time and man power.
If all goes according to plan everyone should make it out of this unharmed. I just need to see to it that I get this done as soon as possible. The sooner I get this done the sooner they stop investigating, and the safer my friends will be. After that I can explain to Marshall and Fionna what really happened, and hopefully they will understand I wasn't being crazy I was protecting them. Cake knows what's going on but she's not good at hiding secrets, so I had to take her to that shack and give her an elixir to help her forget stuff for a temporary amount of time. I gave her the right amount to forget everything up until Fionna and Marshall showed up. I programed BMO with a fake security video that I made to make it look like I kidnapped them; I just hope Cake doesn't remember what truly happened until I can get this all done. I have to make this as believable as possible.
"Your Majesty, do you need anything?" Banana Guard Captain asked looking unsure of what to do.
"No, thank you. Since I'm still Prince around here I need to know what the status of the Candy Kingdom is." I say looking up at him to meet his gaze.
"It's still doing fine your majesty; those charts you gave us were really helpful in remembering our task." He says with a little bit of joy in his voice.
