GUMBALL'S P.O.V

This is it, today I can finally explain to Marshall and Fionna what happened, and with any luck they will forgive me. I spent the last month at my uncle's palace, a month of torture and non-stop working just to give him an elixir that would extend his life-span by two weeks max. The only way I was even able to tolerate such a place was with the help of my new friend, who I had managed to sneak out of there, Taffy. Now that I'm out of there my first stop is Marshall's home because odds are where ever Marshall was Fionna was surly to be there too.

I was sitting in the back of the carriage just watching the scenery pass by, the day was still young it wasn't before long I would reach Marshall's house. I never would have thought in all my life I would miss just traveling through a forest at such a slow pace such as this, but at the least I could relax. I was listening to the relaxing sounds of the forest while feeling the cool gentle breeze of the spring winds hit my face as we passed by. After some time we finally reached the cave where Marshall's house was located, Taffy who had been with me enjoying the view of the new area she would be calling home soon finally spoke up.

"Is this the Candy Kingdom?" she questioned.

"No this is my friends home, I have some unfinished business to take care of I will be awhile. I'll have the carriage driver go ahead and take you to the kingdom if you want to go ahead and get unpacked," I say exiting the carriage.

"Okay, but please hurry I would like to get a tour." She responded.

"I promise I will be back before long," I jokingly said with a bow. She chuckled in response to it. I walked to the carriage driver and told him the destination and to tell the guards to give her a room in the palace. Giving me a nod and started off in the direction of the Candy Kingdom I waved fare well to Taffy and started my way into the dark sulky cave where my friends were.

I went over this moment a million times in my head but now that it's actually happening I don't know what to do. What if they continue to be mad at me for lying to them? How will they react when they see me? How exactly am I going to explain what happened? These questions where racing through my mind and Marshall's house was just few steps away. I need to clear my mind and calm down; they're my friends they will understand.

I was facing the door with my hand raised to knock on it but I couldn't, I was scared to face my friends. I know I didn't do anything wrong, but to them I was the enemy, and they will continue to think that until I can explain to them what was really going on. I need to do this, I have to tell them I wasn't crazy, I was just protecting them. Okay here we go.

I knocked on the door three times expecting to see an enraged Marshall getting ready to devour my entire being, instead the door opens to a half asleep Marshall in his pajamas rubbing his eyes. I forgot that Marshall slept through the day because he was a vampire. How could I forget that, it's literally in his name "Marshall Lee the VAMPIRE King." I mentally face palmed myself for forgetting my best friend was a vampire.

"Gumwad what are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be locked up or something?" he mumbles while lazily walking out side.

"Well that's why I'm here to talk to you. You see it's about everything that happened and my motives for doing it." I sheepishly say while rubbing the back of my neck.

"Yea, is that so? Well you might want to make it quick because I'm awfully hungry and you're the only meal I see around here." He ordered. He's trying to keep his cool so I need to hurry.

"Well you see what I did, acting crazy, getting more upset than I should at little things, and lying to you wasn't cool, but I did it to protect you both." I sheepishly responded looking at the ground.
