Chapter 6 - Someday I'll Fly Away

They were still sat by the lake whilst the sun went down . As it was getting  colder , Nym wrapped the jacket closer around herself.

"A woman spoke to me in my dream . She was singing this song to me and at the end she said 'my golden child .. Aurelia ' "  Nym picked up a pebble beside her and threw it into the lake as far as she could .

"Aurelia " Poe turned to face Nym with a solemn expression on his face . She look at his puzzled as to why he turned to her when he said the name but she then thought nothing off it as he turned to face the lake once more .

"It means golden "

"That's nice ... Naming your child something precious as if they are this shining beacon " She sighed and turned to him .
" you have something to tell me , it's written all over your face "

Poe looked shocked and felt his face , pretending he didn't know what she was talking about " where Nym where " he said in a high pitched voice trying to imitate her .

"Oi just tell me will you "

" it's not that easy "

" Oh please all mighty Poe , give me the knowledge I seek !!" She bowed down to him and they laughed at their antics . Poe mulled over in his mind whether or not he should tell her about what he knew it he figured that in the midst of the war it wasn't the best time .

" when all this fighting is over , then I will "
"And what if I can't wait until everything is over with " she leaned closer to his face so that their noses were almost touching . She could see him getting flustered and she enjoyed teasing him every now and then .

" well you'll just have to cope and struggle on won't you " he whispered in her left ear as he placed a hand on the side of her neck , drawing her in closer and closer .

" Please ...I "

At that moment the sirens from the resistance base blared out into the woods and across the lake .

"ALL PILOTS REPORT TO THE DECK AND AWAIT ORDERS FROM THE GENERAL" the line was then cut off and just like that , so we're Poe and Nym .

"You're needed in Takodana , Maz Kanata has alerted us that she thinks there are First order troops within the vicinity of her planet ." General Leia shouted towards the pilots .
"All of you are needed on this mission . Civilians are to be left unharmed and all storm troopers are to be shot . If anyone else gets in your way or harms anyone , kill them " she stood up proud and tall then waved their dismissal .
"That is all , good luck to all of you "

Poe and Nym walked outside where all the x-wings were on the runway ready for takeoff . Whilst walking Nym was talking frantically to Poe .

"Listen I can come with you , like a stow away or something I don't know just please don't leave me behind " she grabbed the back of his pilot jacket and pulled him back to her . She sobbed on him as he turned around to face her , cupping her face but she wouldn't be quiet .
" I can pilot one of these , Rey taught me , you have to trust me , I can fight you've seen me fight " Poe began to walk away from her and climbed into his x-wing .

" I'll see you soon , take care okay ?"

She stood there , quietly fuming about how he behaved towards her . He was being ignorant or cocky , either way she didn't want to stay here alone and be mollycoddled by the General . As soon as the pilots had taken off she jumped into one of the crafts left behind . She started it up just like Rey had taught her and before general Leia could come outside and protest her leaving , she has zoomed off into space after Poe and his pilots .
