I know I promised the rewrite last night and this is late I'm sorry.

bUT HERE IT IS THE NEW AND (HOPEFULLY) IMPROVED CHAPTER.

Next chapter will be up within the day

Faster. I needed to run faster.

A whimper left my mouth as the mutt growled. My feet, bare, becoming more bloody with each step I took onto broken branches and rocks. Scratches multiplying on my skin as I run aimlessly through the forest, the heavy rain not helping the situation.

The only thing I could hear was the sound of my ragging, panic breaths and those of the animal chasing me. I just wanted a dry place to sleep but instead I got a ferocious hungry wolf.

A shaky breath leaves my lips as I hear the creature getting closer by the sound of it's low growls. I push forward and next thing I know, I'm running on solid wet grass. Not razor-sharp rocks or pointed branches, just grass. I look up and realize I can feel the rain hitting me directly, without trees blocking the falling water. That means I'm out of the forest. But unfortunately, the beast continues to trail me.

I try to think of a plan, but the adrenaline in my blood is just telling me to run. That's all I've ever done.

Run.

Away from the men. Away from the abuse. Away from roaming hands. Away.

A shriek was ripped from my throat as my right arm ripped open. My movement stopped as I eyed my blood that stained the beast's claws.

Snapping out of the daze, my hand coming up to attempt to slow the bleeding but it was too deep. The snarls made my feet move again and I came face to face with a tree. Quick thinking, I thought I could make it up to the lowest branch before the beast came, but I was wrong. I wailed as I felt a pain shoot up my calf. Looking down with watery eyes, I see the beast's sharp teeth in my leg. I cried out in both pain and anger.

Why was my life like this?

I lay slumped at the base of the big tree, staring at the blood, my blood, around the wolf's mouth. Disgusting. I slowly got up not taking my eyes off the monster. My breathing was getting shallower, blood and rain water ran down my arm onto the grass.

I didn't even get to catch my breath when the wolf decided to pounce again. I tried dodging its acute teeth but sadly moved a second too late as the wolf latched onto my shoulder. My vocal cords producing an even louder shout that echoed through the desolate area.

Is this how I die?

No. I refuse to perish at the claws of a filthy animal. I refuse.

Third Person pov

"Hear that Danchou?" the pink haired nen user commented. The other two guys she was with looked towards the forest where they heard the bloodcurdling scream come from. The rain had turned into a slight trickle.

"What about it." the one who, in a way, resembled Frankenstein stated. The leader of the two was about to say something when a wave of blood lust swept the whole forest. Their once stoic expressions dropping and a look of confusion replaced it.

"Come." the dark haired male said and started his way towards the blood lust source. All three using Zetsu to ensure they were not to be seen nor noticed.

They observed a little girl, no more than six, bash the head of a wolf in with a rock. the thing was dead, everyone could tell, but that didn't stop the girl from slamming the serrated rock down multiple times onto the beast. Blood matted down her hair and her worn out clothes that were now reduced to shreds.

After about a minute, the dark haired girl finally stood up and held out her hand. Letting the light rain wash away her and the wolf's blood, only leaving what was under her nails. She took a deep breath in, the blood lust slowly dispersing, and stood under the moonlit rain. Her back faced the three but something suddenly caught her attention.

She tensed, feeling three pairs of eyes on her. The girl whipped around, making eye contact with the leader. His eyes widened in shock for he was using Zetsu and it was almost pitch black out. It looked like the girl wanted to say something but before she could, she fell to he knees, her body following suit.

"Danchou-" but before the female could utter another word, the man was beside the child.

"She's bleeding." he said, more to himself then anything. The other two made their way over watching the man they follow turn the kid onto her back. "Machi. Use your Nen Stitches and heal her."

The pink hair woman wavered slightly, "Are you sure-"

"I wouldn't be saying it if I wasn't sure." She nodded, listening to her superior. Stitching up the girl's wounds was easy, making sure she was okay was a whole different story.

"She's lost too much blood."

"She'll make it."

Machi chuckled, "Have some faith Franklin. She did take down that wolf by herself."

Though that didn't stop Machi and Franklin's mind wonder as to why Chrollo would save this child. No doubt her performance was worthy of applause, but what made her so special.

-

"I'm a killer, not a babysitter." Phinks deadpanned as he glanced at the small being in Franklin's arms. She was then placed onto a relatively flat piece of rubble as the spiders surrounded her.

"I'm thinking the same thing but I'm wondering why you didn't let her die Danchou." Shalnark remarked. Everyone, thinking the same thing, turned to their leader. He had his arms crossed and was watching the girl sleep.

"She holds an impressive amount of potential," Chrollo said, "I want us to raise her to be something great."

-

"Wh-where am I?" A voice rang through the building. The little girl's eyes widened as she noticed how many pairs were on her. She immediately got off the rock she was laid upon and bolted to the door. But before she could even step a foot outside, Phinks had thrown her over his shoulder. She started flailing her limbs in an attempt to escape.

"Let me go!" She shrieked as he walked towards the group, "Please let me go! I don't have anything so please don't kill me!"

"If you don't shut up and be still, I'll make sure your death is slow." The man carrying her gritted out when she shoved her hand in his face. He throws her on a broken piece of concrete as the Troupe surrounds them.

She quickly pulled her legs to her chest and wrapped her arms around them. Everyone watched as Chrollo strolled up to her and squatted down. She felt his presents and hid her face behind her bangs. Her instincts had kicked in and she felt she had to act tough if she wanted to make it out of this alive. She took a deep breath and wiped the tears from her eyes. But she had sadly flinched once she heard a man's voice.

"Look at me." The girl decisively looks up and is met with a pair of eyes. He asked her a question but to her it sounded more like a command, "What's your name?"

"I-I don't have one." She noticed the many people around her.

"Oh? Why is that? And why were you alone?"

"I uh...don't have anywhere to go and never had a home in the first place. No one ever gave me a name and I've just been wandering around ever since I could remember." The girl breathed in. Most of the Troupe felt their hearts go out to the girl for some odd reason. It might have been because they knew how it felt to not have a real home.

"Miyako" the dark haired man stated, his subordinates looking at him cautiously. The small frightened girl met his eyes echoing his words with curiosity.

"Miyako?"

"That's your new name," he stoically said, "you said you didn't have once so I just gave you one. From now on you're known as Miyako."
