Chapter 14

Tess Adams

Well, I guess life is just too stubborn and I will have to deal with it.
I check the clock and there are 3 hours to 5, so I just sit there thinking about what to do.
Just then, I hear some weird noises come from my backyard, Something like a woman shouting in scare.

What? Who can that be?! As long as I know we don't have any neighbors.

I open the front door and slowly walk into my backyard with a knife in my hand just in case.
"BOO!" A familiar voice shouts from behind me.
Oh holy shit, Sweet baby Jesus bless my fucking soul.
"WHAT THE FUCK?!" I turn around to see Cathy standing there laughing her ass off.
"Ugh, For fucks sake Cathy. Next time you do that I will make sure that I stab you." I roll my eyes and start walking back into my house with Cathy following behind me, still laughing.
"HAHAHAHA, that was such an amazing prank you literally were so scared that you brought a knife with you, HAHAHAAHHA." She laughs louder.
"Shut up already." I roll my eyes and hit her arm playfully.
"Alright, so what brings you here?" I ask her distracting myself from whatever happened.
"I have a great news!" She says excitedly Literally jumping.
Oh, something real nice must've happened, and then there's my life.
"What?" I say giggling to her action.
"Me and Brian are officially together!" She dances around like a fangirl.
Wow.
"Oh my god! That's amazing! How did he propose?" I say hugging her.
"We went to the carnival yesterday and he kissed me in the Cafè and confessed Infront of everyone, He's awesome isn't he?" She says in exhilaration.
"Yeah he's got some balls, haha. Congratulations anyway, Cathy! I'm very happy for you." I say hugging her again and she hugs me back happily.
"So, what about you and Dylan? How's it cooking between you two? I have to say you two make an amazing couple." She winks and smiles and I sigh, "He asked me out today, He says it's a surprise." I say smiling back.
"Oooohhhh, Fasten your seatbelt baby, I see something big coming." She winks again and I roll my eyes.
"For real though, He really likes you a lot, Tess. Don't lose him. I'm pretty sure he's the best guy you can ever get. Just forget all your limits and have fun for once tonight, yeah? And if he tries anything don't push him away, Cos I feel it okay? I know you like him. Okay?" She says smiling.
Yeah, I think she's right. I need a break from my boring same old life. I need some spice.
"Okay, thank you, Cathy. And yeah you are another best thing that's ever happened to me, I will never forget whatever you have done to me, I promise." I hug her again and she smiles and hugs me back, "You're welcome, Sucker." She laughs and I laugh too pulling away.

"What time did he say he will meet you?" She asks me, "5."
She looks at her watch and looks at me again, "Alright, we have an hour, Let me get you dressed up yeah? For this one night let me glam you up and I'm pretty sure he wouldn't take his eyes off you." She chuckles and grabs me by my hand and takes me upstairs, "Hahaha, Okay thanks." I laugh and follow her into my bedroom.

"Okay so, What are you feeling tonight? Red carpet Diva or Casual Cutie?" She says searching through my wardrobe.
"I'd go for casual cutie this time." I smile at her and she nods.
"Alright." She says and picks a Black sweetheart cut top with frills on it and black faded jeans.
"Yup, you'd look bomb in this." She says eyeing the outfit whilst smiling and then throws it over to me, "Get dressed fast, we still need to do your hair and makeup." She says giggling and I run into the bathroom to get dressed.
"How do I look?" I say standing near the door of my bedroom showing her my outfit.
"You look awesome, But you'd look better after your hair and makeup is done so Cmon Hurry up, We don't have all day!" She says and I run over to the dresser where all the brushes, curling iron, straighteners and makeup palettes are laid out neatly.
"Okay, let's get started."

20 minutes later..

"Aaaaannddd, Voilà!" She declared as she finally brushes over my cheek with blush.
"Daaaaaamn, Guuuurl." She says eyeing me top to bottom admiringly and I smile.
"Take a look." She swirls my chair facing the mirror so I can look at my reflection.
Wow, I've never felt to confident and beautiful before.
"I know right, You look so beautiful, Tess." Says Cathy resting her head on my shoulder looking at the mirror with me.
"Thank you so much, Cathy!" I say hugging her tight.
"Hey, Hey. Now don't get your makeup smudged alright, it's fine. What are best friends for?" She says winking and hugs me back.

She checks her watch, "Okay, we have 10 minutes, C'mon lets go select your heels." She says running downstairs.
"Wait, what?! Heels? Ugh no." I say groaning and she rolls her eyes.
"Ugh. Cmon just for one night."
"No, I'm already tall enough." I say annoyed and she makes a puppy face, "Ugh! Fine." I say rolling my eyes and she grabs my hand excitedly leading us to the shoe rack where all the shoes are kept neatly which reminds me of mom.
Ugh. I miss her.

"Alright, Wear this." She picks black velvet high heels and hands them over to me.
"Okay." I put them on and catwalk around the lounge and she giggles.
"Wait what about your purse or clutch?" She says snapping out of her thoughts.
"Oh, they're in my cupboard, As long as I know I can't run in heels so go get the one which suits my outfit best go go go! 5 minutes left!" I say in a hurry.
"Okay okay." She runs upstairs and returns with a black leather sling purse and a black leather jacket in case I feel cold.
Haha, she knows me too well.
"Thank you, Cathy." I say and she nods and grabs her jacket and car keys, "Alright, I'll get going now, Brian called me for dinner." She giggles and hugs me, "Have fun, Tess! Don't blow it." She whispers and winks and I nod, "You too, and congratulate Brian from my side." I smile and she leaves.

Okay, Dylan will be here anytime now.
I sit on my couch waiting for him.
*hooooooonk*
Yup, that would be Dylan.
I grab my purse and Jacket and step out of the front door making sure I lock it.
I turn around gracefully and see Dylan staring at me with his mouth wide open.
Hahaha, he looks so cute.
I walk up to his car and use this chance to take a look at what he's wearing. He was wearing a grey beanie that said, "Ladies' Man",A black leather jacket, A V-Line Grey Tee, Black Faded Jeans and I couldn't really see his shoes.

"Hello." I greet him as I get into the car and he's still staring at me with his mouth open wide.
"Close your mouth or else the flies will use this chance to get in." I say laughing sarcastically and he laughs too.
"I guess now I know the difference between pretty and beautiful." He says smirking and I laugh.
"Shall we get going?" I say smiling and he starts his black Ferrari Spider and drives fast.
"Fasten your seat belt, I don't want my date flying away." He smirks and I roll my eyes and put my seatbelt on.
"This is gonna be one joy- ride." He smirks again and drives faster.
