You pushed open the grey school door, releasing Ryuu's hand as you launched into the academy. Students seemed to iether not notice or simply ignore the odd pair. You and Ryuuzaki had the same scedule thanks to the governement allowing you to stay together, considering you two were the main detectives from the Kira investigation, and it would be more efficient for you two to stay together. "Come on, lets get to class, we have our ranking exams today", You smirk, "Im gonna be first this time, Ryuu", Ryuuzaki did'nt react emotionally, "You can keep telling yourself that, (Y/N), but it wont ever happen", he seemed serious. This made you just that much more determined to outrank him. "Yeah, whatever, I bet your ego is bigger than your IQ", You scowled. He seemed rather amused. "Yes... as cute as that was, we have to get to class", he smirked. "I am not cute", You growl, dragging him along once more.

(Y/N) slid into a seat next to a rather formal looking male, as you slid in beside her, taking comfort to your normal posture. "Alright, we are going to be doing the ranking tests in A few minutes, so take out your materials", the teacher announced. "Mk", (Y/N) mumbled to herself as she went through her bag. Finally everything was prepared, the test papers were handed out and you were instructed to start. Ryuuzaki, you, and the formal male that sat beside (Y/N) all stopped at early times. "Hey, Light, I did'nt know you had this class", she smiled at Light, who returned the greeting with a soft laugh. "It was changed last minute",
This eyes met yours. "Hm, this is the LightYagumi?", you tilted your head to avoid eye contact. "Correct, you must be Ryuyzaki, Y'know she talks about you quite a bit", he smiled, before leaning back in his chair. "Does she now, Light-Kun?", he smirks at you, pretending to hold a book in his odd grasp, refering to the diary incedent.
Light's P.O.V
'Quite an odd pair, the Ryuuzaki guy did'nt exactly seem happy to seem me, but maybe he just has a thing for (Y/N)'
Soon enough our papers were turned in, and we were sitting in wait for the rankings to be announced. "Alright, please quiet down and we will proceed to the rankings," the teacher's voice rang unevenly through the class. "Tied for first, Ryuuzaki (Alias last name?), and Light Yagami, two, (Y/N) (Y/L/N), three, Aki Suzumaya...", and so on. You shifted your gaze to Light in shock. He smiled at you as if to say 'Hm, better luck next time'. Ryuuzaki peered over at Light with emotioneless, somehow prying eyes. "Haha, looks like (Y/N) is a little bit suprised, you alright, (Y/N)-San?", Light laughed in a sypathetic tone. "Yeah, of course", you replyed cheerfully. 'I never thought along with L, i'd ever have another rival, I knew Yagami-Kun was usually at the top of his class, but he did'nt know that he was a match for Ryuuzaki, or that he would be a rank above you... Well, better get working, another Rival, the harder you'll have to work. And you were prepared for that. 'Well, LightYagami, get ready for a real challenge'
