The weekend was brutal, the most fun thing I could do was play with my brother. My parents seemed almost ashamed of me because of ditching school. Each night I could hear my phone in my parents room, ringing unstoppably. I seemed to be getting a message or some kind of social media thing every five minutes. Monday came quickly and it was the day I was dreading the most.
On Monday morning, I went into the bathroom and pulled my hair up. Then I put on some light mascara and some lip gloss. I went downstairs where my brother and parents were sitting at the table eating pancakes. I sat down and grabbed some pancakes and started eating.
Then I went back up to my room and did some of the homework I missed from ditching. After that it was about noon so I decided to read a novel for English class to pass the time and get homework done. I fell asleep reading the novel and thankfully, I slept for three and a half hours so it was now almost five in the after noon.
Then my anxiety kicked in. I paced back and forth in my room because I was entirely nervous about the Spencer situation. I sat there pacing for two hours. It was seven. He hadn't come. Normally if he hadn't come, I would've freaked out and gotten mad at him. But in this instance I was so happy he hadn't come that I screamed and jumped in the air. Then to my dismay, there was a knock at the door. My excitement subsided and I stood at the edge of the stair well and looked to see who was there. I was worried but it was only my mom's friend Alice picking her up for her Monday night book club. I sighed a breath of relief. It was nearly eight now and I officially knew Spencer wasn't coming. I danced around my room in delight and fell on my bed. I found my self snoozing off unexpectedly for a few hours.
I awoke startled and saw my brother Alex looming over me. I screamed. I slept for only about an hour. It was about 10:30 p.m.
"Ugh, you freak!! What are you doing in my room??"
"Mom said to tell you she and dad want to talk to you."
"And you only had to say THAT, and you barged in my room??"
"Pretty much."
"Tell them I'll be down in a minute and get OUT of my room. NOW!!" He left my room and I got out of bed. I quickly brushed my hair, which had become static from sleeping. Then I went downstairs to the kitchen. My parents were sitting at the table.
"You needed to talk to me??" I said curiously.
"Yes, your mother and I have decided that you may come out of your room for Christmas, as long as you are kind to your brother, you get ALL of your homework done and caught up on, you do your chores, and you promise to get your grades up after the break." My dad said slowly.
I agreed with every one of their stipulations. My mother then added," You are still not to leave the house at all, except we will allow you to go to Family Christmas parties and that's it. No phone, car, laptop, tv for now." I nodded and could not stop smiling.
I went back up stairs and started the shower so it could warm up. Then I walked to my room and grabbed my towel and music. I got in to the shower. Once I stepped out of the shower and walked into my room, in my towel. I closed the door so I could get dressed and somewhat ready for bed. It was getting dimmer outside, so I walked over to my balcony window and closed the curtains. Once I was finally dressed I pulled my hair up into a loose ponytail. I left my room closing the door behind me and went downstairs for dinner. My dad had made barbecue chicken with mashed potatoes and corn. It was delicious, I honestly think that's my favorite meal that he cooks. We sat down at the table and my brother, the star of the show here just went on and on and on about his trip. While I was stuffing my face with mashed potatoes my dad decided to ask the glorious question,"Who is this boy that got you into trouble?" He said, but he didn't seem very concerned.
