Brian's sitting there, his black hair falling onto his forehead, his big, bright green eyes darting around the room anxiously. He's wearing his favourite light grey sweater, dark blue skinny jeans, and a pair of navy blue skateboard shoes.
I don't know him very well, he's in a few of my classes, we talk sometimes. You know, just a little small talk every now and then. But still, I really like him. I would ask him out, if he wasn't straight and probably homophobic like all the others.
"Hi Brian", i say to him. He turns his head around to face me.
"Oh, hey Alexander", he says in a surprised tone. "What're you doing here?"
"I was late", I say. "What about you?".
"I talked back to a teacher" he answers. "He he was being conservative and homophobic".
"Wait, you're not a homophobe like everybody else?", I ask, surprised.
"No, actually, I-I'm ga-gay", he says, his voice trembling anxiously.
"Really? So am I", I tell him. I couldn't believe I found another openly gay kid in an oppressive, homophobic school, and it was Brian, the guy I've had a crush on for a solid 8 months.
I could feel a connection between us, like something could happen, friendship wise, or romantically.
"Hey, I was wondering if you maybe want to hang out after school today?", I ask him. I didn't want to date him just yet, just become friends. I haven't had a friend in a while, I'm kind of an outsider at my school, you know, being gay and all.
"Yeah sure, that sounds great", he replies.
"Brian!", the principal shouts his name, implying that it's his turn to get a lecture from her.
Brian gets up from his chair, wipes his palms that were clearly sweaty from anxiety on his shirt, and walks towards the small, dull, white office.
Later on I had my lecture, but you don't wanna know about that, it was pretty boring. Just a bunch of blah, blah, blah, same old stuff that you'd expect.
Later that day after school I met up with Brian to hang out. We go to the park right by the school, about a block away. We chat for a while, talking about stuff we have in common: our sexualities, our experience with coming out, stuff like that.
Brian hasn't told his family, just people at school. He's also had the same experience with the group of conceited jocks.
It's around the time for him to go home, and for me to go to the dark, cold, clammy, depressing alley I call home. Since the start of hanging out with him, my attraction for him has grew stronger, and it was killing me not to tell him.
"Well, I should get going", he says with a small, cute smile which allows his dimple to be seen clearly.
"Yeah, me too", I say, lingering a little while.
We both stand there, I look up into his eyes, because he's a little bit taller than me. He looks back at me, and I feel his body going closer to mine, so I lean in towards his chest.
He closes his eyes and leans his head towards mine, it was about to happen. I close my eyes gently, and then I feel his lips lock with mine.
