The Summoning

Preface

                 I feel like I should say a few things before anyone wonders what this project is all about and why chapters are getting posted annually.

                I'm in college right now and I have many responsibilities outside of school that will require my attention while I'm on break, but I've had this idea for quite a while now. I can't tell for certain when I'll ever finish or how often ill update or if I'll even finish, but I love writing and if you don't like what I write or you feel my writing ability is inadequate, you can either wait until I finally get around to revising it, or you can stop reading. No one is forcing you to read what I write; I do it for fun.

                The Summoning is an idea that spawned from years of influence from movies, books, music, games, and everything else. It's all of my favorite stuff into one book (or maybe hopefully a trilogy). It has multiple viewpoints, some major while others quite minor. It is about a realm split into four kingdoms. Some alliances are at a truce while others are at war. Much like The Elder Scrolls, the world is also split into factions, but in a less noticeable way. In fact, I would refer to them more so as organizations of people with common characteristics. A discourse.

                I have no intention of singling out one main character, but the most important bits of the story revolve around Caellach, the realm's greatest fighter. Caellach formed Arcadia's Black Guild, an organization with a variety of goals centered around ridding the world of the dark creatures (Darklings) that are attacking the four kingdoms. The Black Guild has the responsibility of defending the Ferlian capital city of Arcadia.

                The fantasy world I'm writing about isn't quite like Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, but I wanted to recreate the feel of a true fantasy universe while also incorporating Martin's diplomatic presence within the pages. I'm including everything from dragons (possibly), magicians, mirrors that lead into another world, and more.

                If this sounds like something you'd want to read, please give me a vote. I hate asking for this kind of stuff and want your support to come from you, but I may not even finish this project if I don't think anyone will like it or read it. Votes encourage me to write more and finish while seeing 0 to 5 views per chapter makes me feel like no one is appreciating what I'm doing. I may be writing because I love writing, but I also want to share it with others and know what they HONESTLY think.
