The Multicolored Sphere
I moved around in my large comforter until I found the perfect sleeping position. I opened my eyes a bit and looked around the room one last time. I had gotten the bed on the right side of my – Zoey and I’s room. My suitcases were lying all over the ground in a cluttered fashion, with my clothes scattered all over the floor. I hadn’t been here for a full day yet and my room was already a mess. I quietly chuckled at the thought of my insanely messy dorm room.
“What’d Usaya?” Zoey mumbled, half asleep, her words blending together.
“Nothing, sorry!” I said quickly. “Turns out I didn’t laugh too quietly.” I thought to myself.
My first day was over at the School of the Powerful. I had met a lot of new people, and saw so many new things. Not including the whole storm mishap – I could not have wished for a better first day.

“WAKE UP” I heard Zoey scream into my ear.
“1 minute.” I moaned.
Zoey made an tsking noise and started to jump on my bed. All of a sudden, a huge blast of light was shot straight into my half open eyes.
“Ahh!” I shrieked and bolted out of my bed. “”Unfair! NO, and I mean NO, power use in the morning!” I said sternly. I looked over to Zoey and saw her smiling with a small sphere of light levitating over the palm of her hand.
“No way! And get up sleepyhead, classes start in a thirty minutes – not to mention, I am not missing breakfast!”
“No! I can’t be late for my first day of classes!” I thought to myself with a psychotic expression on my face. I scurried over to my clothing and pulled together a decent looking outfit as fast as I could. I could hear Zoey laugh at my panicked frenzy. “I’m ready!” I said huffing loudly.
“Come on then!” Zoey said excitedly. “We can see what classes you are going to be in!” I felt her hand grasp around my arm, and with a much stronger force than expected, Zoey started pulling me outside of our dorm.
“Slow down!” I said frantically. She dropped my arm and I tripped and fell to the ground.
Zoey bent down and held out her hand. “You O.K?” She asked concern showing in her eyes.
I grabbed her hand, and just as she was pulling me up, I pulled with all my force and she landed on the ground with a loud thump. “I guess I deserved that,” She said while we were both attempting to stand back up. As soon as we were both up, we both started laughing and fell to the floor again. We pushed ourselves up, and noticed that we looked hilarious. My hair was sticking out in almost every direction, and so was Zoeys. Our clothing was crumpled and our makeup was smudged. We both started fixing out hair and makeup in a floating mirror Zoey had made using light. She never failed to amaze me. We finally reached the door leading outside, and we hurriedly pushed it open, not wanting to be late for breakfast.
I noticed a large group of students huddling around a certain area. “What are they doing?” I asked Zoey, pointing my finger towards the large group.
“This is where you are going to get your class schedules!” Zoey answered cheerfully. We both rushed over to the kids, and in the center of the huddle was a large corkboard with a stack of papers attached to it. Zoey and I pushed through the crowd and finally made it to the board. I heard her ruffle through the papers and with a sense of triumph gleaming in her eyes; she pulled out what seemed to be my schedule. After we had finally escaped the suffocating crowd, Zoey read to me my new classes.
“First Period – Hop. Second Period – Creature Control. Third Period – Battle class. Then you have got break! Next you have Fourth period – Healing. Fifth Period – Slut. Then Lunch. Lastly, you have sixth period, which is Overall Control. You have got a pretty good schedule! I think we have our break and lunch periods at the same time!”
