He has short black hair, the deepest brown eyes I've ever seen have lost their spark of joy, and his usual lopsided smile is missing. Instead, a frown is on his face and there are dark bags under his eyes. He looks exhausted and depressed. "Ryan," I whisper.

He's being interviewed, his voice is tired but hopeful, "I know Morgan better than anybody," he says, "Wherever she is, she'll be fighting. Making her captors life a living heck." He keeps looking away from the camera.

Now he looks right at the camera, almost as if he knows I'm here, "If your watching this Morgan, keep fighting. Don't ever give in, we'll find you. I'm sorry I wasn't there for you-" I hear someone outside the door.

I don't want Chris to see this, I fumble with the remote and shut the tv off. I hear the familiar click of the lock, "Your done early," he says.

I shrug, "I just got done." At least I didn't cry, I have to be strong, not only for myself, but for Ryan and my family as well. Ryan looked like a mess, I need to stop sulking so much and take that energy in to fighting.

First I need to get that screwdriver. As much as I hate to say it, I'll need to earn his trust. Which means acting compliant with him. It may take awhile though. This is gonna take a lot of concentration.

"Foods in the kitchen," he says, a small smile is in his lips. He is leaning against the door frame with his arms crossed.

"Ok," I get up. I need to say something nice and natural, "Thanks."

He seems surprised. It's either the fact that I said thanks or that he doesn't have to fight me. "Alright." He takes my hand, I hold on to his loosely.

He leads me down the stairs to the kitchen where he bandages my hands the night before. On the table sits some sort of omelet. It smells delicious.

Even though I'm cautious of eating it. I smile and sit down across from him. I pick up the fork and start eating with him. "You're in a better mood," he says cautiously but wears a huge smile on his face.

I shrug and say, "I realized in the shower how unfair I'm being." I choose my words carefully. "I was acting like a brat and I'm sorry for that. I mean, your just saving me from my family and friends, I see that now. I can't believe I was being so stupid."

His smile grew bigger the whole time I was talking, I nailed it. "You weren't being stupid, you were just confused," he assures me.

"Now my mind is all clear," I say. Maybe I should've been in drama at school. I'm playing him like someone plays a puppy by teasing him with a bone.

We eat in silence the rest of the time, he keeps looking at me with appreciation in his eyes. I try copying him but am probably failing miserably. He doesn't notice.

"So," he starts, "Do you wanna watch a movie or something?"

"Sure," I say getting up and taking my dishes to the sink.

I reach to turn the faucet on but his hand grabs on to my wrist. I look at him, "What are you doing?" He asks.

"Uh, washing the dishes. I don't fell right letting you do all the work."

He nods, "Ok," he still doesn't trust me enough to wash the dishes. This is gonna be harder than I thought. He brings the rest of the dishes, "There you- wait, let me."

I must look confused because he takes my hands and reminds me of the gauze, "Oh," I say, "Right." He chuckles and washes them.

We walk to the living room, hand in hand, and sit down on the couch. "You can choose the movie," he says.

I walk over to the case full of DVDs. "I also can stream Netflix if you like," he says from across the room.

I give him a thumbs up and keep looking. There are all types of movies; action, comedy, romance, horror, and more. I choose the newest Star Trek movie. I love it.

"Great movie," he says as he puts it in the blue-ray player.

My hair is mostly dry, so I start putting it in a ponytail. "Why do you do that?" He asks, startling me.

"Do what?"

"Put your hair up," he touches the hair I'm holding in my hand, "I think it's prettier when it's down."

I shrug, "I'm not exactly trying to impress anyone, and it keeps it out of my face."

"You impressed me," he whispers. I just give him a small smile and finish putting it in a loose bun.

This makes me sick. I feel like I'm giving in to him. But I guess that's right, it's the only way I can earn his trust. I want to kick something.

Once we start the movie, I try to fall in it. I pretend I'm living Captain Kirk's life to escape my own nightmare. It helps, I almost forget where I am, until an arm wraps around my shoulder and he scoots closer to me. Our sides are touching.

It's impossible for me now, I just can't concentrate. I sigh and lean back, he pulls me closer to him. Great.

After the movie is done I get up to stretch my body out. I was so stiff during the movie, I tried my best not to move. "Do you want to watch another one?" He asks.

An idea starts forming in my head, "Sure, you choose the movie this time. I'm going to use the restroom, is there one down here?"

"Yeah, down the hall, last door on the left." This is to easy, he pointed down the hall with the most doors.

"Oh," I stop, "No romantic movies," I add.

I start walking to the hall casually. Once I'm out of sight, I start trying to open all the doors. A closet, bedroom, a game room I think, a basement, and the garage.

I spot the tool bench in the corner across from the door. I want to go in there so bad to grab it, but my instincts are telling me to stay. Or maybe it's my fear.

If he were to catch me in there, he'd know I was lying. Besides the punishment I would get, he would never leave my side again. That would put a damper on my plan.

I close the door and rush to the bathroom. Not knowing what else to do, I take my hair down and brush it.

"Sorry it took me so long," I say walking in to the living room, "I decided I like my hair down."

He smiles, "It's alright."

"So what movie did you put in?" I ask.

"Can't tell you," he laughs.

"Fine," I say, "Lets get it started."

I sit down on the couch next to him. He pulls me close already, just breathe, I keep telling myself.

I know what movie it is from the beginning, "White Chicks". Oh I love this movie to.

We laugh throughout the movie. His laugh definitely overpowers mine and you can barely hear it.
