I woke up to a thin slither of light escaping through the gap in the white, floor length curtains. Stretching my arms and legs various bones cracked, causing a shiver to run down my spine. I really should stop doing that. I pulled the covers off of me and clumsily made my way to the bathroom, knocking over my empty suit case and stubbing my toe on the side of my door. Why do I have to be so clumsy and accident prone? At my rate I will end up dying from a piece of string or by tripping over my own feet and falling over the edge of a cliff. I rolled my eyes at myself, typical me, already worrying about how I will end my life, even though I really don't want it to end. I'm a worrier; always scared of what the future holds.

I opened the bathroom door and got into the shower cubicle, which was a small cupboard like room in the corner of the bathroom. Opposite the shower was a lucious looking bath, but I've always prefered showers, especially in the morning. I turned the shower onto warm and happily entered the heaven like cubicle. I sighed in pleaseure as the warm water hit my body, feeling good to wash every part of me. I stood in the shower, letting the water wash away my lonliness. I mean I know I'm not alone, I have my dad, but I've never really bonded with him. Its always been mum, Kelly and me. Well obviously George came into the picture, but I tended to ignore him. I really did miss mum and Kelly, Note to self: Call Mum and speak to Kelly.

I got out of the shower, feeling refreshed and ready to start a new day. I wrapped a super soft white towel around myself and headed for my room, I found Dad quietly knocking on my bedroom door. I snuck up as quietly as possible, behind him, waiting a few more seconds before, "Boo!" I shouted in his ear making him jump slightly, then pivot round to face me.

"Summer" He started of stern, then started laughing,"You really are quite like me, you know." He smirked at my astonishment, clearly smeared across my face. I always thought that I was like mum.

"And just for that, I won't let you down easy." He grinned.

"What are you talking about?"

"Today is Monday, and the time is now 7:30am. Do you know what that means?"

"Time to watch kids programmes on the TV?" I smiled innocently.

He chuckled under his breath,"Nope. First day at school, today."

"But I don't have a uniform." I was thinking of any excuse to get me out of going to a snobby British school, full of spoiled little brats, all talking with their nose held high in the air and saying, 'Mother brought me a pony the other day, but guess what? She got a pony that was 2 inches too tall to compete in the competition. Hahaha.' I really was not looking forward to the rest of the day.

"Ah, but you do. Stay here, I'll go get it." Dad instructed, before striding to his bedroom.

It didn't take him long to return, this time carrying what must be my new school uniform. He handed me a pleated black skirt, black tights, white blouses and a dark blue blazer, which had a weird looking crest on the left breast pocket. He finally handed me a pair of black flats and a dark blue with silver stripes. I sighed, looking down at the pile of clothes resting on my thin, tanned arms.

"Go on then, get dressed. I want to take photos before I take you to school. If you want we can send some to your mum. How does that sound? I know you miss her, and Kelly. After your dressed you can call them, if you want." He sounded so concerned, I felt sorry for ever thinking anything bad about my father. Without thinking I dropped the clothes on the floor and wrapped my arms around his waist. Immediately I felt his arms wrap around my shoulders. I smiled at the happy moment, this should've been our first hug in three years, not the one at the airport. Dad's arms loosened before letting me go completely, I stood back and looked up at him.

"Thanks Dad." I beamed up at him, maybe today wasn't going to be as bad as I thought it would. I picked up my school stuff and went in my room to get changed, lightly closing the door behind  me.

Once I was in the uniform, it didn't look too bad. I was standing in front of the mirror, trying to decide how I should do my hair. I went with my natural curls, but enhanced them a bit with some mousse and Voila. I stared back at the girl in the mirror, the clothes fit her perfectly, giving her body more shape and curves, the skirt landed just above her knees, revealing long thin legs covered with a pair of black tights. Although her eyes were tinged with sadness, a huge smile was plastered on her tanned face. She looked happy. I was happy.

I exited my bedroom and shouted for Dad. He rushed up the stairs, camera in his hand, as soon as he saw my his eyes filled with love and pried. He too wore a massive grin on his face. Its smiles all round, I thought.

"You look wonderful Summer." He remarked.

"Thanks Dad."

He held the camera up to his face,"Say cheese." I smiled, but did not say cheese, the flash on the camera nearly blinding me. I blinked a couple times, before regaining my usual perfect sight.

"Okay you know that st.Blakes is a boarding school, yes?" Dad checked with me.

"Yes Dad, but I unpacked everything last night." I'm so stupid!

"No worries, it won't take you long to pack what you need. Anyway we don't have to be there until 9 and its only 8. You pack and I'll make you break feast. What do you want?"

"Ummm.. Well what do you have?" I asked, really not having a clue on what food there would be in the house.

"Crumpets, toast, beacon, porridge, special K, cornflakes, eggs, I could make you an English breakfeast."

"Surprise me" I replied, to be honest I didn't really know what any of it was, well except toast, beacon and eggs, but that's beside the point.

"Will do. English breakfeast it is." He desended the stairs whistling to himself, I rolled my eyes and smirked, before returning back to my room.

******

By the time I had finished packing all of my necessities it was 8:20, I hauled my suitcase down the stairs, almost falling down them when I misjudged the size of the first step. I steadied myself and safely got to the bottom. My suitcase fell out of my hands landing with a loud thud, missing my toe by about 1/2 an inch. Instead of bothering to move it, I climb over it and head to the delicious smells wafting from the kitchen.

Dad saw me and ordered me to sit at the kitchen table, I obediently followed his order and sat at the table, facing my dad. He finished serving the food onto two plates, handing me the smaller portion. On the plate sat in front of me were, baked beans, bacon, sausage, mushroom, toast, scrambled eggs and skinless tomatoes. It didn't look to inviting. However, my tummy disagreed my grumbling greedily, I did what my stomach wanted, I ate the English breakfeast.

To my astonishment I finished my breakfeast and actually enjoied it.

"Thanks Dad."

"No problem."

I picked up the plates and put them on the counter, getting a piece of kitchen tissue I wiped my mouth and hands free from grease.

"Come on Summer, lets get you to school." And with that, we left the house, that I was beginning to call home, to go to a school, where I will have to call home. Because we were running late, I called Mum in the car, it wasn't a long conversation but it was nice to hear her voice. Unfortunately, Kelly was asleep, well to be fair it would be past midnight back home.

As we drove closer to St.Blake's my heart beat sped, the palm of my hands became sweaty and clammy and I felt like I was gonna throw up.
