Beth's  POV

I wake up and check my clock its already 11:00 am. I get off my bed and go to the living room. I find my mom sitting on the couch with her laptop as usual. For the past three months her gadgets have become her best friends. It started when she returned from a party she looked angry but when I asked her about it, she just a shrugged like its no big deal.

I know something is terribly wrong with her. I have tried asking her about it but she just lies, I don't push her because I know when she is ready she'll tell me, she always does.

"Morning mom" I greet her sitting on the couch.

"Morning" she says not looking up.

"What's up you look tired. Did you sleep last night?" I ask looking at the bags under her eyes and her messy hair.

"Oh it's nothing I just woke up early don't worry" she lies giving a fake smile.

I go into the kitchen and see my sister baking.
I sit on the kitchen counter and cross my legs.

"'Morning Sis " I say

"Morning" she says busy mixing her batter. 

"Can I have my coffee?" I ask rolling my eyes

"You forgot the magic word"

"Please pumpkin"I say fake sweetness lacing my voice.

"Don't call me that" she says handing me my coffee and the apple pie she made yesterday.

"Oh I will " I say and go back to my room
I check my phone and have 5 missed calls from my best friend Jane. I call her and she picks up almost instantly.

"Hey Beth oh my god I have to tell you something, I'm so excited I mean I can't even" she rambles but I cut in.
"Calm down and tell me "

"Not on the phone! Can we meet"She asks but I know it's not a question.

"Do I have a choice?"

"No"

"Starbucks around 1 okay"

"Perfect"

"Bye"

"See ya"

Well I am
I have everything I need I don't know why people say nothing is perfect. Cause my life is the epitome of perfection.
