Little Star, Little Eye

It all begins a long time ago, in lands far out of reach,

With soaring mountains and bright blue sky, above a white-sand beach.

A single star hung in the night, and as an eye it stared,

At the distant lands far below, going on, impaired.

"Well, what is holding this land back?" it wondered to itself,

As it watched peoples' lives living on like books upon a shelf.

And then it had it, this little star, of how its light might aid,

As it looked upon with tinted colors of emerald and jade.

You see, in this perfect land, there was no death nor pain,

But in the end that was what closed it off from any wealth or gain.

And so the little star drew from the heavens a thin embossing string,

And tied it to the perfect land, so the shining star could bring

Itself down to the white gold beaches, framed by the rocky rise,

And from the sand rose a single smooth emerald-green eye...
