This part may have some flashbacks so I'll put a "**" to indicate those. Thank you for reading this guys feedback means a lot^-^

Tyler had been travelling for about 3 days now. It was a smooth journey and he slept restlessly knowing he was on his way to see Josh. He just had to find what planet. Maybe it was the big striped one, or maybe it was that really small red one, like Josh's hair. Tyler smiled. He loved Josh's hair.

He remembered the time he had asked Josh about his hair.

**They were only about ten. It was the middle of the night when Tyler heard a small knock at his door. He climbed out of his giant bed and hurried to his door across the cold floor. It was only ever cold on their planet. The only sun in the galaxy was too far away to provide any real heat.

Tyler opened his door a crack to reveal a scared wide-eyed Josh.

"T-Tyler I'm sorry to bother you b-but I had a nightmare and I'm a little sad now. Could I maybe stay in here with you?" Josh looked up at Tyler with sad pleading eyes and he couldn't imagine ever saying no.

He opened the door more to let Josh in and then closed it. He grabbed Josh's hand and led him to the bed.

"You can sleep in my bed if you want. It's big enough for both of us. Plus it's colder tonight." Tyler rocked back and forth on his toes.

Josh nodded and the two boys climbed under the plain white blankets. They lay there for a while not uttering a word. Finally Tyler spoke.

"Josh?"

"Yes Tyler?"

"I don't mean to be rude b-but why is your hair red like your eyes?"

Josh went quiet for a while. Tyler got worried and turned to look at him. He was staring up at the ceiling, looking confused himself.

"Well I don't actually know. I mean my mother and father always told me I was born like this, but I think it might have something to do with my ability. I don't know why?" Josh turned to look at Tyler now.

"Oh no reason I just...like it is all." Tyler remained locked on Josh's ruby irises. Josh smiled wide and his dimples appeared and his eyes squinted and Tyler thought to himself that that smile could cure any disease.

"Thank you Tyler."

They turned towards each other, still a distance away and closed their eyes. Just as Tyler was falling asleep he felt a small warm hand lace with his and he smiled a little. That was the best night of sleep he'd ever gotten.**

Tyler smiled at the memory. He could still hear Josh sometimes. His laugh when they would run from the estate security guards after wreaking havoc in one of the hundreds of rooms. In fact he heard him right now. Saying his name. Wait. Except it was clear. Clear as if he was...in his head.

Tyler flipped on auto pilot and unbuckled himself from his chair. How could he hear it so clearly.

Tyler? Tyler can you hear me?

"Josh?" He spoke out loud.

Oh Tyler. I missed hearing your voice.

Tyler was in utter disbelief.
"Wait. What's happening? Am I going crazy? How- I- is this really you? But how are you in my head?" Tyler was now pacing up and down the hall of the ship.

Tyler calm down. If you freak out I might lose my signal. I found my ability. I'm a Communicator. I can talk to people in their head but it only works with our kind. The species I live with, they only have one brain.

"Josh I can't believe I'm talking to you right now. I-I missed you." A tear slipped down his cheek and he was thankful Josh couldn't see him.

I missed you too Tyler. I tried to come see you before they took me away but I got caught. I'm sorry. For everything I probably put you through.

Tyler thought back on all those times he would spend screaming and crying, throwing things and blaming himself and his ability for ruining everything. But never once did he blame Josh for what happened.

"No Josh it wasn't your fault. Nothing was your fault. It was my ability. I never did figure it all out." Tyler sat down in his chair again and looked out at the vast expanse of space. At the stars and asteroids.

"I'm in The Melee Josh. I'm coming to find you." He spoke after a long silence.

I knew you'd figure it out. You were always the thinker.

He could almost hear the smile in his voice. He really wanted to see that smile.
"I couldn't have done it without Patrick. He's a Tracker. That's his ability."

Wow. Patrick. I miss everyone. I miss our planet. I miss you.

Tyler's hearts sputtered.
"Tell me about the planet you're on Josh. What's it like?" He put his hands back on the wheel and listened for Josh's calming voice.

It's amazing Tyler. The whole planet is covered in this green vegetation. Some of it's called trees and some of it's called grass. Then there is water but way more water than on Aptos. It's miles and miles of water and apparently nobody knows how deep it actually goes. But the species that inhabits this planet are really similar to Aptocians. They don't have abilities but they look like us. Except nobody has red eyes so I'm an Anomaly here too.

Josh laughed a little and it was an angelic sound. What was it Josh called that? Music?
"That sounds so different. But amazing! You like it there?" He asked.

I do. I really do like it here Ty. It's called Earth by the way. How far out do you think you are?

"About three or four more days. Conditions permitting."

It might take a while for us to find each other. It's smaller than Aptos but it's still really big. You have to land somewhere safe. Somewhere nobody can get hurt.

"I know. I can turn the invisibility shield on. Don't worry I'll find somewhere. And I'll be there soon Josh."

Tyler I have to go. I haven't kept a connection this long and it's draining my energy quickly.

"Okay. Contact me again soon though. Hearing something other than my own thoughts is a relief."

I will Tyler. Be safe.

"Goodbye Josh."

Goodbye Tyler.

It was silent again except for the hum of the ships engines underneath his feet. After seven years he finally got to hear Josh's voice. It was a little deeper now but it was still Josh. He felt better than he had in a long time.

He put the ship back on auto pilot and stood from his chair, deciding he should probably get some sleep. He made his way down the narrow hall and to his bunk in the back of the ship.

He fell asleep soon after laying down and he could have sworn he heard soft steady breathing that wasn't his.
