"My appointment is that so many of you are so gullible, that you eat everything you are fed."

Charles Manson

An emerald eye peeked through the keyhole. On the other side, it glimmered and smiled at her mockingly. She pulled away from the keyhole, took hold of the handles, and tugged at them. The doors making a cacophonous clamor as they shook but refused to open. Bliss peeked through the keyhole once more like a curious child, and, just like a child, she whined at the sight. Inside the office, leaning undisturbed against the desk, her scythe glistened happily in the light.

She balled her hands into fists and beat them upon the door's surface, "Stop mocking me!"

"Who are you yelling at?"

She turned around. Her emerald eyes blazed with frustration, but the anger subsided at the sight. She stood up straight but loosely, "Oh, it's you."

Finny giggled and scratched the back of his neck nervously, "Ahaha, sorry if I scared you."

She shook her head, "No, it's fine. I was just upset."

"At what?" he poked at his cheek and looked around curiously.

She smiled, "Your master is keeping something of mine."

A big grin broke out on Finny's face, "Awww, see how great the master is?"

She sighed, "No, Finny. He took it away."

Bliss kneeled before the keyhole once more and pulled a small metal rod from the halter at her thigh. She jammed it into the keyhole and twisted it around. After a few moments of struggling, she glared at the keyhole and the task at hand.

"Umm, Lady Bliss? I don't think you should do that. That is the master's office. He and Sebastian are the only ones with keys to it." Finny looked down at her with the face of a worried child.

Then, someone cleared their throat, "Yes, I do believe you should step away from the door, Miss Bliss."

"Tch," Bliss flinched at the mockery that dripped with each low-spoken word. She turned back to look at the tall man with a glare, and held the glare firmly in place as she stood. She pulled the small rod out of the keyhole and jabbed it back into its place in her halter. Then, Bliss flashed a gleaming smile, "Hello, Raven Man. I am glad to see you are back."

Sebastian smiled back at her, "I can only imagine your enthusiasm."

Her smile turned into a scowl, but the scowl was soon devoured by a devious grin, "Where is your master? He is never far behind."―Bliss sauntered over to Sebastian, hooking her finger in his tie―"That little master of yours has you so owned, you might as well wear a collar and leash."

"He is my master, and it is my duty to be at his side. No matter how it may appear to anyone else. But you stay like some caged beast, and he is nothing of yours."

Bliss froze at Sebastian's side. She hated him. Her hands twisted into a claw-like manor at her side; her jaw clenching with rage.

"Sebastian." It was odd. It made Bliss' head fall to the side with confusion, and it even made Sebastian frown. Finny's sweet happy voice sounded scornful, "It is not like you to speak so rudely. She is our guest. You have always told us to respect our guests and treat them with our best behavior. You are not acting like the butler you are."

Again the sound of someone clearing their throat sounded, "For once, Finny says something smart. Sebastian, you are a butler. Do your job. Now, open the door to my office."

Sebastian glared for a second before placing a hand over his so-called heart, "I apologize for stepping outside my boundaries. I will open the door at once."

Sebastian straightened himself and gracefully opened the door and held it open for Ciel and Bliss to enter. Ciel entered with the clicking of heels and cane, but Bliss paused before entering. She looked at Finny with a shy smile, "Thank you."

She rushed in before he could respond, leaving Finny to watch after her with a pink face and a stupid grin. Sebastian leaned in close to Finny's face, "Go. Do. Your. Job."

Sebastian then shut the door in Finny's face. He turned on his heel and looked at the scene before him. The office was quiet. Ciel was in his chair. He was turned away and looking out the window. Sebastian did not have to see Ciel to know the look of wonder and frustration that was on his face. Ciel always looked out the window with the same longing expression, as if the answers were somewhere beyond the glass.

Then, Sebastian's eyes fell upon Bliss, and he grinned at the look of temptation on Bliss's face. She looked hungrily at her scythe. She fidgeted, but whether it was the temptation of being close to her beloved scythe, or the heavy atmosphere, Sebastian did not know.

The air seemed to buzz, as if it would explode with the slightest spark. The air was uncomfortable. The pregnant silence only intensified the feeling of unease. "Take it," Ciel burst the silence suddenly and without a warning.

Bliss jolted, "My scythe?"

"What else in here is yours?" Ciel did not turn to look at her. Sebastian knew he couldn't. He knew that Ciel, for some odd reason, was hurt, and that made the demon grin. His amusement only grew, when Ciel said, "Take it and leave."

If Ciel was hurt, Bliss was utterly torn and shattered. Her shock to great to leave any room for her scythe. She stood and stumbled forward, holding herself up on Ciel's desk. Her voice was low with disbelief, "What?"

"Take your scythe and leave. Stay outside of our sight, where you do not upset the Queen, and we will stay out of your way."

Sebastian watched Ciel as he spoke the words. The hurt and disgust on his face both amused and confused the demon. Bliss erupted, "What happened to our deal, you brat?!"

Ciel turned at that point, but all previous emotion was now gone, "I am releasing you. That is wat you wanted correct?"

She shook her head and slammed her hand down on the desks surface, "You said you would help me."

"Yes, and I believe I said I was not doing it for you, but for me and my own benefit. Since there is no benefit, I have lost interest. I suggest you lose the blind interest of finding your father as well."

"What would make me do that?!" She was frantic. Sebastian could see how much the news caused her to suffer. It was enough to make him laugh, but he remained silent and watched.

Ciel stood slowly. He walked slowly over to the door as he spoke, "You have been desperately and frantically searching for a man that abandoned you. Did you ever stop to wonder why he abandoned you? Did you ever think maybe he did not and does not want you? What would you do then Bliss? What would you do if he hated you?"

Her hand was shaky as it lifted tiredly for her scythe. She took it in her grasp and seemed to lean on it for support. "He said he loved me..."

Ciel only sighed, "You naïve girl. You were but a newborn, when he wrote that. It is easy to tell a lie let alone write it. If he truly loved you and wanted you, why would he abandon you?"

"That is not your problem. That was not our deal..." her voice persisted on carried by a broken breath.

Ciel sighed as he stood in front of the door, "You are still with that? Very well. Sebastian, give her a clue to finding her precious father. I do not care what it is."

Sebastian grinned maliciously, "Yes, my Lord."
