"Even psychopaths have emotions. Then again. maybe not."

It was dark out. The moon gleaming down and flecking the ground silver. There was not a single sound. There was no wind humming silently. There was no chirp of crickets singing. Ciel stared up with a big round eye at the moon in wonder. Quiet footsteps lifted then fell silent, drowning in the stillness of the night. A hand slipped under the string of Ciel's eyepatch and smoothly slid it off.

Sebastian's cool breath feathered along Ciel's neck and jaw, "The moon is high, my Lord. Even you, can see that. We must get you to bed, less you fall ill."

Ciel struggled to not shiver with every word that caressed his pale skin. He bit his lip to keep his composure and nodded. He let himself be led to his bed and then undressed. Sebastian slipped the night shirt over Ciel's thin figure and buttoned each button slowly in silence. The minute the last button was secured in its hole, Ciel pulled away from Sebastian and crawled to the center of the plush bed.

He wriggled under the sheets and curled up into a tight ball facing away from Sebastian. Sebastian watched him do so carefully. His mouth open then shut. Sebastian quietly stood and picked up the candelabra as he made his way to the door. He had just opened the door, his hand still resting on the knob, when a small voice crawled its way through the silence and over to Sebastian, "Stay..."

Sebastian turned on his heel, "My Lord, you are no longer a―"

"Can you not obey that simple order?" Ciel's voice was firm, but his face hid under the sheets.

Sebastian shut the door and walked over to Ciel's bed side. He pulled a chair over, but before he sat Ciel called to him once more. His voice was low, shy even, "Lay with me, Sebastian."

Sebastian set the candelabra down and smiled, "But my Lord, I am not fit of―"

"You have done it before. I do not see why you cannot do it now."

Sebastian nodded. He removed his tailcoat and carefully untied the laces to his shoes. He slipped them off before climbing onto the bed next to Ciel. Ciel's back was to Sebastian, but he noticed Ciel's anxious discomfort. Sebastian sighed, "Why are you forcing yourself through this?"

Ciel turned around to face Sebastian. He looked up at the raven haired man with bright eyes. He shook his head, "I am not forcing myself to do anything. I have nothing to prove to anybody with this."

Sebastian lifted an eyebrow, "What do you have to win?"

Ciel looked down and bit his lip. He thought over the words Undertaker had said. He then looked up at Sebastian, "Do you think it was right to let her go?"

"So, that is upsetting you?"

Ciel lifted his face to look at Sebastian's. He scooted closer to the large man in order to see him clearer. He frowned, "I could care less what she does."

Sebastian chuckled lightly, "You just asked if it was the right thing to do."

Ciel bit his lip, "I don't think it's right. That's all."

Ciel turned away from Sebastian but pressed his back against his chest. Sebastian grinned. Even after multiple years had passed, he was still the same scared child. Sebastian lifted a gloved hand to smooth back Ciel's hair, "What is not right?"

"The fact that she has a father, yet her father has no daughter. Him being able to be with her, but he claims that she is meant to be dead." Ciel balled the sheets in his hand.

Sebastian's grin grew. No, he had not grown at all. He was still that angry revenge driven child. He patted Ciel's head, "She has long since made her decision of what drives her life. Just as you have made yours."

Ciel turned around once more to face Sebastian, "Yes, I have made my decision. I have chosen what drives me, what keeps me living."―Ciel took Sebastian's right hand and removed his glove―"And it marks us both, the decision that drives my life and governs yours."

Ciel flashed a smile up at Sebastian that made demon's eyes widen in shock. Though, Ciel's smile was laced with something that seemed like sadness, "Life is not fair to a lot of us... Truth be told though, I think fairness is no more real than a unicorn, or any other mythical creature. But the world is cruel, and it can be absolutely vile and painful at times. Do you think her life will end topped with all the sadness and pain she lived her whole life with, tied together like a bow on a present?"

Sebastian only looked down at the small bow in amusement. He smiled down at him, "Who can say for certain how, or when, it will end? Do you wish for me to handle that?"

Ciel just shook his head. He lifted his hand and clung to Sebastian's vest. He hid his face in Sebastian's chest. The words he whispered were quiet, but they reverberated through Sebastian's chest in a bolt that made his heart pound with excitement. Ciel had whispered in thesilence of the night, "When you take my soul, go ahead and be brutal. Etch the pain deep into my soul as proof that I lived..."
