CHAPTER 06.

 

As soon as Louis sends his messages to the respective authors, he begins to feel nervous. He doesn’t want to be annoying or to come off as some kind of weirdo. Feeling a little regretful, he closes his laptop and climbs into his bed, taking his Lit work with him. Liam notices the change in Louis behaviour and looks up from his own studies.

“You ‘right?” Liam asks, eyes flickering to Louis abandoned laptop. Louis nods wordlessly, and Liam knows that he’s lying. “Did you ask?” Liam presses.

“It’s not weird or anything, right?” Louis seeks immediate reassurance.

Liam laughs at Louis because he can’t help himself. He thinks it’s hilarious to see him so distressed over something so trivial. “Louis, people message random strangers on the internet all of the time. If they didn’t want to hear from their readers they wouldn’t be posting it on a site they can be contacted on. 

Louis takes in what Liam says and realises that Liam is right and he is overreacting. It’s not as if he’s asking them where they live or if they can be best friends; he’s just asking about the work they’re posting. He feels a little stupid for turning into such a girl about it and sighs, getting back to his feet and going over to his laptop. He doesn’t expect a reply from either of them straight away, but when he clicks into the message he sent to mynamehere to read over what he himself said, he finds that they have already answered.

Don't worry, I get it all the time! I love it too, look at that we've already got something in common (; I'm working on it as we speak! I should be posting it... Tomorrow maybe?

 

Louis absently grins at his screen - not only is Liam right about his action being normal, but he will have a new chapter to read tomorrow! It also helps that whoever Louis is talking to seems to be good humored. Louis notes the winky face and grins to himself again. Louis strokes his fingers across his keyboard before replying.

If I’m completely honest, I am really excited to find out what is going to happen with Lucas and Thalia! You left us at such a cliffhanger that I am dying to know! Please tell me that they’ll end up together soon :)

Louis pauses a little as he reads the message. He is unsure of how to respond. Is this considered flirting? Louis glances over his shoulder to get Liam's opinion, but sees that Liam is newly absorbed in his studies and doesn't want to interrupt. Louis turns back to his screen and bites down on his lip nervously - but what does he have to be nervous about, it's just having a laugh, right? What was that Liam said about making a new friend?
