Chapter 5: Project and Exam Week

Lucy's P.O.V.
After 2 weeks when Justin burnt his hand, the whole activity was cancelled. Now it's exam week and passing of requirements. I have a late requirement in Science, and I'm afraid of the teacher because he might scold me in front of everyone and embarrass me. I mean it's my fault but I hope Sir won't embarrass me. The project was to draw 5 surfaces of land in the Philippines. Simple right? But I forgot because there was a lot if activities. This is a head ache. "Come on Lucy! You can do it! Think positive!" Alex said while cheering beside me. She is just watching me draw while Pia laughed at her. She has been cheering for 1 hour already. Suddenly I heard a crashing sound of chair. I didn't mind since it isn't my business and continued drawing. But when I heard sobs I looked at my right side. I saw Alex on the floor crying and there was a big wound on her arm that was bleeding. Pia went towards her and help her up. She is a grade 7 student and showing our classmates that she is crying. She is bold to show her true emotions. "What happened?" Justin asked caringly. "I kept on jumping to cheer Lucy and I accidentally trip and hit the sharp part of the chair." She said while wiping her tears. "You should go to the clinic Alex" Tan said. "Nah, I'll be alright." She said while smiling weakly. The president ran in with a medical kit. She put bandage on Alex's arm after she put betadine. "Thanks Krissha." She said and stood up. Carlo was bringing a mop to wipe of some of the blood. Why is there no janitor to clean it up? Because Krissha, our president wanted us to learn and not depend on the janitor to do stuff for us. She is a good role model. Carlo returned the mop and my classmates fixed the chairs. I went back to my work. Just 2 more drawings and I'm gonna be done. I did my best, for Alex. Why for her? Because she cheered for me at her best. And I won't throw away my friend's sweat.

Pia's P.O.V.
"You should really take care of yourself. Tsk. If only you aren't clumsy you wouldn't get hurt. Blame yourself." Justin said and left the classroom. He is so irritating! "What kind of friend is he?! Why does he have to be so mean?!" I whispered annoyingly but I guess Alex heard it. "Just read in between the lines. He is like that because of his pride. I just have to understand him" she said while staring at Lucy who was doing her best in drawing. She is a good artist. "At last! Yess!" She shouted loudly that startled everyone in the class. Our science teacher entered then. She walked towards him and gave it confidently. "Wow Miss Lucy. Your drawing is pretty. But I have to give you a grade that is minus 7 because of punctuation. What gave you the courage to still pass it since it's 1 week late if I may ask?" The teacher asked. It echoed in the classroom because it was incredibly silent. Everyone was scared of our Science teacher, he rarely jokes because he takes teaching very seriously. I waited for Lucy's answer while quietly sitting down in my chair. "Because a friend of mine cheered me on doing her best. Well, in my view she was doing her best to let me think positive and give me the courage to pass it because I was scared that you may embarrass me. Thats the reason." She said with her head up and looking directly at our Science teacher's eyes. After a few seconds of staring at each other she sat down in her respective chair and started studying for Science exam. Sir just sat down in his chair and started checking out projects. "Guys, make a reviewer for Science exam" Krissha said and we did as we told. She qould tell things and we would follow. Why? Because it's for our own good. 'The leader does what is best for the rest' is the saying that fits her most.

Justin's P.O.V.
We were all assigned in different rooms. I don't know anyone in here. Tsk. I wasn't able to study last night because I was too lazy. Now I'm regretting that I even slept. I took my Math book and scan the book. It's not processing in my head! I took out my math notes and started reading. It was all in red marker. It slowly processed. I took out the reviewer I made. Good thing Krissha told us to do it. I answered quickly. I was half in answering it when the teacher arrived and then gave the exams. Shoot. I hate it.

Alex' s P.O.V.
This is exactly what I needed. First, because of my clumsiness yesterday and now I forgot my stuff at home. I don't have my reviewer or books then I'm in a classroom where in I don't know anyone. I just have to use stock knowledge then. But this is making me so nervous that my stomach feels like its twisting incredibly tight.

Lucy's P.O.V.
1 week since the exams. Alex was sulking in the corner and growing mushrooms while Justin was irritated and tapping the eraser of his pencil on his head while I'm just sitting down looking at them bored. Pia arrived and dragged the two of them including me out of the classroom to the cafeteria. "Bon appetite" she said while presenting the food prepared in front of us. "Where did you get all this?" Alex said with sparkling eyes. "I bought it with my allowance just to cheer you guys up and have fun." Pia said with a bright smile. I saw Justin smirk in the corner of my eye. I smiled a bit at her effort. "Thanks" I whispered. "Your welcome" she whispered back.
