Goodbye to Romance

Chapter One

13th of March, 2014

"So.. how do I look? Does this make me look a little fat?" Vesper asks me with a worried look on her pretty face as she's fixing the pale baby pink dress on her thin but toned and good looking body.

"Vesper, you look absolutely amazing! And the dress doesn't make you look 'a little fat' at all, in fact, I think you look better than ever. Just look at your boobs for example, they are pretty big and this upper tight dress makes them look even bigger." I tell her smirking but trying not to sound irritated by her 'weight' remark as she always brings up this kind of topics. She seems so uneasy about her body image and I will never understand why because she is everything a guy or a girl would like to have.

"Yeah, they are kinda huge." she blushes and I start laughing while shaking my head at her modesty.

I love Vesper so much, she's like the best gift I could ever recieve from life. She has been my best friend for the past 4 years and to be honest, these 4 years by her side were the best years of my entire life. Sounds cheesy, I know, but it's pure truth.

I brush that off and go straight to the mirror. I check my makeup one last time before heading to the church, just to make sure it still looks as perfect as it did half an hour ago.

"Love, you look stunning so stop checking yourself so much." she infroms me but I was still unsure of the amount of makeup I have applied on my face. I probably should've applied some more, I'm going to be a bridesmaid for Gods sake, I have to look my best at these kind of important events. I should've put more time, body and soul into my appearence this time around. But just as I was about to grab the eyeliner I regret not applying earlier, we got intrerrupted..

"Giiirls, we are leaving. Are you ready? We are being late." Vesper's father screams from the hallway as he rushes to the front door. "Come on ladies, we already had to be there."

"Oh my God, we should've been there like ten minutes ago." Vesper gasps.

I ask her what time it is but she rushes to her father's car without giving me any answer as she probably doesn't even hear my question, so I check it myself. It's 2:51 pm and the wedding starts at 3:10 pm so we really are late.

Good thing we managed to arrive right in time. Vesper's father drove like we literally were in Fast and Furious.

As we entered the church I quickly laid my eyes on my partner, Christopher. As he saw me, he smiled widely and waved at me and I went directly by his side taking his arm in mine. Chris and I had been close friends since middle school. He once had a crush on me, like 3 years ago, but even though he's good looking and probably the sweetest guy I've ever met, I never felt attracted to him that way. He's a charmer though, every girl could fall for him only looking directly into his deep blue eyes.

In front of me was Maria, the villain, and her partner Rafael, my ex-classmate. In my back were Vesper and Sebastian. Sebastian being Vesper's best boy friend, with whom I had a lot of conflicts in the past, as we used to love each other after being in a realtionship for 3 years.. which were poorly wasted. Long story short, Maria was one of the reasons me and Sebastian broke up almost 3 months ago.

Vesper's father made all the excuses for being late but it was all okay, not even the preparations were completely done until now.

"We are gathered together on this beautiful afternoon to share with Angelina and James as they exchange vows of their everlasting love." the priest starts "As Angelina and James take their vows today, we are privileged to witness the joyous love of a new family -- a family that will be nourished and nurtured through the devotion of two separate individuals growing together through the common bonds of love. May their marriage bring them the peace, joy, comfort and contentment that is known in the hearts of all God's children..".
