As soon as the plane touched down in the new land, I felt my stomach twist in knots. What was I thinking? All the way to Ireland? How insane am I? I was exiting the terminal and went to grab my bags. While I waited, I did a quick Google search for the nearest and nicest hotel and booked a room for a couple of nights. Harvey's Point in the penthouse. I felt the need to require the biggest room possible to fill the biggest void in my life.
I grabbed my bag and found a cab and instructed them on where I wanted to go. I arrived at the large looking estate and felt the sudden need to sleep. My trip was nearly twenty four hours long, and I was starving too.
I checked in and went up to my room. I dug through my bag and angrily ripped open my blood without even bothering to heat it up. I drank it fast. I found another one that I had inadvertently stashed and did the same to it. After my snack I was feeling quite a bit better. I threw on my sweat pants and crawled into my elegant and huge bed. Sleep came fast to me.
Damon's POV:
I knew I shouldn't check. It would be an invasion of privacy, not to mention it would make the point of this experiment moot. But I had to know if she was safe.
I was lounging on Ric's couch with the bottle of bourbon on the end table next to me. I pulled out my phone and went to the app that I had installed to see where Aera was at. I never told her it was on her phone; it would have just caused another fight.
As I waited for the app to load, I took another swig of the burning drink to calm my nerves.
Donegal Town, Ireland.
I felt my brow furrow in confusion. What the hell was she doing there? I didn't expect her to leave the house much less leave the country. Anger coursed through my veins and I wasn't sure why. Every rational part of me knew that this was my idea, but I honestly didn't think that it was going to last long; who knows how long she will stay away.
"Ric! We need to do something tonight!" I hollered to him, sitting up and leaning forward.
I heard him enter the living room. "Like what?"
I shook my head. "Anything. Anything at all. I need a distraction."
"I know the perfect thing." I turned around and Alaric flashed me a cat-like smile.
