The Go Kart track is completely free of any Karts. As a matter of fact, there is really no one here.

"Where is everybody?" I whisper to Amaliana.

She smiles and holds in a laugh, "it's just us. Ama' told you, didn't she?"

I give her a confused look.

"We rented the track for the day. It usually take too long to get a turn, and it's my sister's special day."

I help them set up the table for cake and snacks, and before it feels like any time passes, we crouch and turn the lights off for Alice to get here.

Her face turns red once we simultaneously shout, 'Happ Birthday!' Her friend even jumped back and nearly knocked Taylor over.

I couldn't hold in my laugh at Taylor's surprised face. He caught my gazed and suppressed a smile before carefully standing Alice's friend up.

"Last one on the track is a rotten egg!" Sophia yells over the birthday madness.

Sophia jumped into my arms and demanded me to run, and Taylor Sergio was the last one on the track. I didn't even have to tell Sophia to get in with me, the adorable five year old is hilarious and I wouldn't want anyone else to ride with me.

As soon as the rumble of the engines started, Sophia was wiggling in her seat. Most like the most impatient of the sisters.

"We have to beat Taylor, Sage. He wins every time." Sophia rolls her eyes, fastening her seat strap.

"What will happen if we win?" I ask her, adjusting my foot work on the pedals.

"Bragging rights," says Amaliana from the Kart next to me.

"How fast do these Karts go?" I shout.

"Up to 25 mph," Taylor smirks from the right of me with his shades on.

I smirk back, winking at him over my shoulder before turning to face the track.

Sophia makes an "oooh" sound, giggling like a five year old would.

The horn blares, and Taylor zooms ahead. I guess he has to learn the hard way.

~

"SAGE!" Sophia shouts with a laugh.

We just cut off Sergio, and even with the loud Karts running his laugh is heard from behind me.

"We only have one more lap to go and we're catching up to Taylor!"

I just smile at Sophia, and we close in on Taylor as she nearly jumps out her seat.

"Hold on," I tell her.

We're right next to Taylor, and I noticed from the corner of my eye as he glanced in our direction. We fall behind him a bit as we turn, but he is no match for me. I've worked at a GoKart track when I was fifteen, I drove these on my break, and I know them like the back of my hand.

The finish line is coming nearer and nearer. Just as Taylor edges a bit too close to our Kart, I speed forward and put a whole in Taylor's never-ending streak of perfect races.

Sophia wouldn't shut up about it as we got out of the Kart and ran to Taylor. He immediately swoops her into his arms and tickles her.

"We beat you! And now you have to buy us pretzel bites!"

"Is that so?" He smiles.

"Yeah! Sage likes them too."

He looks at me, and I blush at the fact that I actually beat him at Go-Karting. I never even imagined going against him for something so competitive for him, and beating him at it. I blush even harder thinking about it. Beating him at his own game, I like this Sage.
