{After this chapter I will be changing the format. For some it will be easier to read, maybe not for others. The current style is irritating me.}

Breakfast was strange, to say the least. We didn't get any actual concerns out of our hair, and just feigned interest in safe topics, life her kids. My siblings. Twin girls, both five. Dorothy and Norelei, if I remember correctly. They were off to school by the time I woke up. Which doesn't bother me, I had some decent sleep after getting off the phone with Taylor.

Which is another concern, because we didn't discuss anything important either. I avoided the subject of my anger projected towards him, I didn't want to go to sleep with ill thoughts, so we talked about everyone but ourselves. His older siblings, for example, which I faintly remember Sergio talking about. Apparently Sergio has three older kids before he met Lana. Sergio is a few years older than my father, they met in college when Sergio went back to school for some important degree that he paid off within half a year out of college.

Anyway, he wants me to meet all of his siblings, and they'll all be together for his aunt's wedding in a few months. About May, I think. Details are kind of fuzzy, I was tired while talking.

And Lana wants me to come soon back so she can try this new recipe that she found on Pinterest for Strawberry Fudge Brownies. I was thinking about it the entire drive home, and even stopped at my local grocery store to pick up the ingredients to make at home later. It's been months since I've baked, maybe it will cheer me up.

Sara texts me as I was cashing out, we exchanged numbers before I departed after lunch, and said: Drive home safe, we'll have to meet again for breakfast soon.

As long as she's paying, I think to myself.

I made some poor excuse about feeling ill for Lana's baking session. She thinks she's slick, but there's no way I'm going near Taylor and Sergio for at least a week. I was being kind last night because I need courage, and I'm done being Mister Nice Guy.

She calls not even ten minutes after I finish putting the groceries away and hanging up Taylor's car keys in the spot mine usually occupy. Next to the extra garage key I confiscated from Jeremy.

"How about I come to you? It can just be us girls, no cooties allowed."

I agreed immediately. Passing up Lana's baking skills just isn't an option. And seeing Taylor's sisters cheer me up 100% of the times when I'm feeling irritable. They're all just good company.

I had to get some scrappy clothes on, I still had on my work professional clothes from yesterday. I skipped a shower, I felt I was going to get unnecessarily dirty when around baking supplies and five underage girls...

"The Glam Squad is here!"

"Glam Squad? Ama' told you to stop watching the Kardashians!"

"No she didn't! Right Ama's?" Says Sophia, which causes Alice to roll her eyes.

Lana gently shoves the girls through my door, they have to file in one by one unlike their house where they all ram though the ginormous double doors. "Now girls," she huffs, "I swear I remember blocking that damned channel!"

I laugh and close the door behind the tribe. They all come beared with bags of utensils and ingredients, my already laid out equipment looks scrawny compared to. And my table only fits four, so we'll have to either remove all chairs and stand or have to improvise with some lawn chairs that I'm not even sure if I still have. They might have gotten donated a while back when I didn't even have time to trim my lawn...

"Sage!" Sophia squawks, barreling into me. She barely reaches my hip, so there is no harm done to my babies.

"Hey gorgeous," I smile softly, "are you ready to get your bake on?"
