Meeting Him

I groggily opened my eyes that cried all last night. I hit my alarm clock till it stopped beeping. I threw my legs over the side of my bed till they reached the cold carpet beneath them. I shuffled to the bathroom and turned on the hot water.

The steaming hot water felt so good against my morning skin. I didn't want to move out into the cold age I washed my hair again. After it was inevitable that I couldn't stall another minute without being late I stepped out into the coolness of my house.

I wrapped a dry towel around my wet body and shuffled to my room. I dried of and but on a petite dress with splashes of yellow and orange to match the look outside. I slipped on a pair of white flats and quickly brushed out my hair.

I put a pack of pop tarts in the toaster and put on my make up while I waited. After they popped out I grabbed them and my book at and headed for my car.

It wasn't a busy morning considering it was Thursday. No body had anywhere to be except classes. I got to my locker and started unpacking my bag and pulling out what I needed. "Hey Ever." Molly said walking up to me. "Hey Molly, what's up?" I asked standing up from my locker. "James Donick just asked me out." She squealed. He was pretty cute boy and also pretty popular.

"Congrats." I smiled and we walked to first period. English was first and it was easy so I was happy. I sat next to Angela Bruke, she was a peppy cheerleader that was really bad at just about every subject. She had a pretty head just nothing inside.

After english ended with nothing special happening I went to history them math. I was terrible at math so I was always behind and it was really stressful last trimester trying to keep up. Luckily I sat next to a straight A student in that class, Ryan Behill.

Once lunch rolled around I knew the day was almost over. I sat with Molly, my best friend, Chasity, a friend that nobody tells anything to because she has a big mouth. And last but least Rain, she is quiet and who knows what she over heard because we could be carrying on a secret conversation and not notice she's there.

It's the five if us no one joins and no one leaves our little group and I think we are all content with each other. We all make small talk as I poke the gross looking meat on my tray. I didn't feel like eating much anymore so I just threw the food away and sat and talked.

Most of the time Molly talked about her new boyfriend trying to make us jealous but by the vacant looks on our faces I could tell it wasn't working. The lunch bell rang and we all went to fifth period.

When I got home my mom was passed out on the couch with a couple of empty beer bottle next to the sofa. I just rolled my eyes and did what I did yesterday. I got changed into a pair of capris and an old quarter sleeve remembering how cold it got yesterday.

I left and headed for my secret place. I was down the hill and over the creek in only minutes and the closer I got to the tree house the more noises I heard. The house finally came into view and I saw a figure sitting on the tire swing my uncle added after we finished the house.

I approached the swing as quietly as possible. I was feet from the person ,who I realized now was a boy, when his head spun around. I gave up on trying to be quiet. He had black hair that was short and gelled up. He had dark brown eyes and pale skin.

"Who are you?" I asked. "Why does it matter?" He shrugged. "It doesn't I just wanted to yell at you. Get off my property!" I exclaimed. "Whoa whoa whoa. Your property?" He questioned me. "Yes my property this place is mine and you have no right to be here." I snapped. "Chill, I was just walking around and saw this place and wanted to swing, what's your name by the way?" He asked.

"Why does it matter?" I mocked his previous response. "Well played, I'm Logan." He said extending his hand toward me. "I'm Ever." I told him shaking his hand.

"Where are you from?" I asked. He didn't look familiar and the closest town was 6 miles from here. "Umm I moved in today in a house at the other end of these woods." He said pointing the opposite way that I came. "Oh." Was all I could say before we felt raindrops on out skin.

"Wanna come up?" I asked heading towards the rope ladder. "Sure." She said following close behind. "It won't last long, it barely rains here anyway." I told him. "Yeah it rained a lot where I'm from he said. After a couple minutes of talking about the town the rain let up.

"We'll I should probably get going home. I'll see you around Ever." He said before quickly taking off. I though about him for a couple more minutes and what he said. He never mentioned anything about his family or school or his old town. Maybe he's the type that doesn't like talking about personal stuff. I shrugged to myself.

I pulled out a pair of scissors I had brought and a ball of yarn I kept up here. I began to cut up pieces of yarn and tying them together. I finally finished.

I help up my newly made dream catcher to the sunset and smiled. I was satisfied.
