“I see, good, now I have some company, my journey as well as my duty will be less of a burden to me. Shall we proceed with our quest?”
There was a friendly chuckle from the assassin, “Of course, time is precious. Time is lives.”
The swordsman and the assassin started moving again. All through their journey, they could only see death and destruction. It was like, hell was reborn on this mortal realm and was spreading its fangs over it. Rune-Midgards had become a mortuary of defunct odors and a land of hopelessness. Tyke kept looking at the bodies and his worries kept increasing. What could be so powerful and so foul to enjoy massacring lives like this? Is that thing, corrupted by power, doing this for fun? Or is there a reason behind all this?
The assassin looked at tyke. He saw worry in Tyke’s face. Entrerri said, “Don’t let your mind waver. When evil is born, it announces its arrival by spreading disasters. Lives will be lost. No person can respond quickly enough to save the whole community, as evil strikes us when we least expect it. You, being a swordsman, must lead the army of the good, who are ready to offer their lives under your command. Remember even a speck of fear or doubt in the leader’s mind can weaken the whole army considerably. You may have fears, but you must never reveal them to your fellow warriors. They trust you as they hope that you have the foresight as well as knowledge about your steps. Be brave tyke. I know we can do it. And I am sure that we will get more people to help us.” Entrerri smiled at tyke in a warm way.
This instilled confidence in tyke, “you are right my friend. I must not lose hope on such normal phenomenon that occur.” So they continued, with the doubts in tyke’s mind cleared.
The sun was seen setting beyond the horizon. Tyke was really tired, so they decided to take rest. While Tyke lied down on his back staring at the stars, Entrerri lazily kept watch by sitting on a huge boulder near by. The moon was almost full on that cloudy night. Tyke, still looking at the stars, asked Entrerri, “So, do you see any thing?”
“Nope. Smoke, and broken houses all over and a few flying orcs…………”
“I see…….SAY WHAT? FLYING ORCS???!”
Tyke quickly got up. Even Entrerri was dumb founded and looking at orcs being catapulted into the air. It was like they wanted to fly but were unsuccessful. After they reached a good height, the orcs started falling. It seemed clearly that someone was throwing them up into the air. Tyke and Entrerri quickly got up and ran towards the scene. As they ran towards it, a voice started becoming audible.
“COME ON YE LILIIY LIVERED VERMINS!!! FIGHT LIKE A MAN!!!”
When they saw the origin of that voice, they stopped dead…..starring at him.
There was a blacksmith who was like the eye of a raging tornado destroying everything in its path and sucking the orcs towards him. Some orcs were rushing towards the blacksmith; the ones at the centre were being catapulted behind or getting crushed under his humongous axe.
“HA! YOU CALL YOURSELF WARRIORS?? YOU COULDIN’T HIT A FROZEN CHONCHON!! IN WHAT DREAMS WILL YOU KILL ME??”
Suddenly huge deafening sounds started coming from the scene. The ground started rumbling and cracking under tyke’s feet. It seemed as though the earth below the smith wanted to swallow the orcs. Orcs started screaming at the top their voices, talking in their cryptic language. Now the orcs tried to escape the smith, as smith started using one of his most powerful weapons. It was…..the death-defining Hammer Fall. The ogres were either stunned or hurt badly. Within seconds, the smith was off to chop all the orcs down. He did it one by one. But now, the smith seemed to grow tired. Tyke noticed the fatigue of the smith, so he and Entrerri rushed to help him. Tyke tried to quickly reach the smith but the orcs kept blocking him, so he had to force his way through. While he was making a path for himself by bashing the orcs dead, he tried to see whether Entrerri had better luck. He was stunned to see Entrerri slide past all the orcs like a slippery eel. It seemed as though the assassin was not wasting time trying to kill the orcs. This seemed as the right decision. so, tyke too started to push the enemy back by magnum braking this way past them.
