"I'm home!" You called out.
"Oh, good. I was beginning to worry about you, Y/N," Aunt Janice said, smiling at you. "I unpacked your bag while you were gone. Here's your phone, by the way."
"Thank you, you didn't have to do that." You replied.
"It's no trouble, it gives me something to do. Would you like some tea, Y/N?"
"I would, thank you." You said, accepting the offered mug.
"So, how come it took you so long get up the stairs to the apartment?"
"Oh! Sorry, I got lost in the street." You said, smiling apologetically.
"Really? How on earth did you get here on your own?"
"I didn't, actually," You said. "I went into a shop and a boy from there walked me here."
"Oh? That's nice," She said. "Look at you, already making friends on your first night in the city."
You smiled, but something that the younger-looking boy had said was bothering you.
"Aunt Janice?" You asked.
"What is it, Y/N?"
"I heard that the area wasn't all that safe, is that true?" You asked her.
"Well, I suppose it is, to a certain extent. But it's usually safe during the day, or if you're with someone." She said.
'Well, that explains why he wanted to walk me here.' You thought, a little disappointed that it probably hadn't been out of romantic interest.
"If that's all, you must be tired, why don't you turn in for the night, Y/N. I'll see you tomorrow. Your room is the second to last one down that hall"
"That would be nice," You said, making your way towards the designated room. "Have a good night!"
-
"Y/N, are you even listening to me?" Your aunt said, snapping you out of your recollection of the previous night's event.
"Sorry, Aunt Janice. What was that, again?"
"If you have time, I'd like you to come with me to a few shops to help pick up some orders I've made. Then, you can both get to know some locals and learn your way around at the same time, and I get something out of it." She said.
"Sure," You replied. "That sounds like fun."
-
The first shop you went to was a crafts store, filled with friendly-looking elderly people looking for a post-retirement, pre-mortem hobby.
The second shop was a fabric store, and weighed down with your aunts possessions, you nearly tripped multiple times.
The third was a paper store, something you had never realized even existed until now.
The fourth and final stop, was a familiar-looking florist's shop. You paused by the door, wondering if Abel would be there.
"Y/N? Come on." Aunt Janice called, and you both went inside.
