"How was your date, Y/N?" Aunt Janice asked, as you stepped inside.

"Good," You said, closing the door behind you. "I think."

"You think?" Your aunt asked.

"It was a little weird," You admitted. "But I kind of liked it. We're going out again this Friday."

"That sounds fun." Aunt Janice said.

"I'm gonna go to bed," You told her. "Good night."

"Good night, Y/N."

You got ready for bed, and were about to turn the lights off when you remembered the piece of paper Abel handed you. You took it off the desk and unfolded it. It had a phone number on it. You picked up your phone from where you had set it down, and dialed the number. It rung twice before someone picked up.

"Hello?" You recognized Abel's voice. You almost had a heart attack.

"Hi!" You said. "It's me, Y/N." You cringed at how eager you sounded.

"Oh." He said. "Hey."

An awkward pause ensued.

"So," You said, a desperate attempt to break the silence. "Want to talk about Friday?"

"Sure," Abel said. "I'll pick you up at eight?"

"Sounds good, what're we doing?"

"I'll let you know as soon as I know." He told you.

-

Thursday night, he called again.

"What's your opinion on documentaries?"He asked, right off the bat.

"I'm glad they inform the common man," You told him. "Why?"

"There's one playing at a cinema near Times Square. It's about the Industrial Revolution. Are you interested?"

"For our date?" You asked him.

"It's not very romantic, I admit, but hear me out: it's almost impossible to screw up a movie date.'

"Hmm," You said. "Fair enough. I'm in."

-

You spent most of Friday stressing about the date, so when the doorbell rang, you were more than ready.

"I'll get it!" You told Aunt Janice, and opened the door.

"Ready to go?" Abel asked.

"One second, let me grab my coat." You told him. You did as such. "Okay, I'm ready. Bye, Aunt Janice!"

"Have fun, Y/N!" Your aunt told you, as you walked out the door. You and Abel descended the staircase.

"It's not that far from here," Abel told you. "Do you mind walking?"

"Of course not; it's nice out today."

"It's never nice here." He pointed out.

"It's nice compared to what I've seen so far." You corrected yourself. "So, tell me about the movie we're going to see."

"I don't know much," Abel admitted. "It's the only thing playing right now. Most of the movie theaters are closing early this week."

"Seriously?" You asked. "Here?"

"I know, right? We're in New York City! There's a 24-hour bakery across the street from my apartment! Why would a movie theater close at 7 on a Friday night?"

"People these days." You agreed. "Anyways, I don't know anything about the industrial revolution, so you may have to explain what's happening to me."

"I actually don't know anything either," Abel said. "But I'm foreign. What's your excuse?"

"The industrial revolution was worldwide, you know."

"See? You know something about it."
