New Year Contest

So, what is this New Year's Contest about,huh? Yeah, so we figured that it would be best if we would host this competition, to increase our influence and so that more and more people get to notice this movement as well as "non-cliche" stories.

We don't have that much following right now , so we would request you to please help this contest get recognized.

What do we have to do?

The people who want to participate have to write a simple one-shot story themed with "New". Its like after this year 2015, which for some was blissful or for others horrendous, was over we have to start/try something new or to better our lifes.

For this contest you have to write a story between 1,000 to 5,000 words about something new. For example how the main character overcame the fear of coming out of the closet and admit he/she is gay. Or something like about accepting new challenges in life and trying to be successful despite being physically/mentally disabled.

But, but, but, there is another condition. And that is that the story must be original(must be written exclusively in this year 2016) and most importantly "non-cliche" which is effortlessly simple. The story shouldn't be about how a nerdy girl overcomes her fear of asking the badboy about how he thinks of her because we all know that we have had enough of that.

So, gear up your brains, make a cup of coffee or tea and get started in 3.....2.....1

For this event, there will be three judges and judging would be done anonymously and on the basis of plot, characterization, writing style and demonstration of the theme.

Submission

You can only submit one entry per person and they have to be tagged with this tag (NewYear'sContest), so its easier for us to find. To submit the work, you have to send us the book link in the submisssion page that will be posted after this.

Deadline

We are open to receive entries only till 19th January 12:00 EST. No entries will be taken after that. The judging, will take sometime but we will make sure that the results are declared before 23rd January 12:00 EST.

Prizes

According to the number of enteries, we will announce the winners, but as we are still a small community, we think there will only be one winner. But if you want, you can  help spread this contest to other users and then we might increse the number of winners.

1st place-  Follow from all the judges and this profile(total:4) + Their book will be added to the Writer's Spotlight + critique and shoutout for the book of their choice.
