Night, or what felt like night, had finally fallen on the underground. Sans was shuffling over to the ruins to see Frisk after promising her he'd hang out there every once in a while. He knocked on the big purple door.
"Heh, heh.." He chuckled. "Knock knock."
"Who's there?" A familiar feminine voice answered with a squeaky giggle.
"Police," Sans snickered.
"Police who?" They asked.
"Police let me in, it's freezing out here." Sans said jokingly.
A loud thunderous female laugh pounded through the door. Sans heard humorous banging, snorting, and gasping. The door slowly crept open, Toriel's goat snout poked out, her eyes runny from laughter.
"Oh Sans, you always tickle my funny bone." Toriel retorted with a slight giggle.
Sans chuckled, wiping his eyes.
"Nice one,"
She let him in, leading him up the stairs into the house. Frisk sat quietly on the floor, flipping through some of Toriel's old books.
"Excuse me, I've got a pie to attend to." Toriel smiled, rushing away to the kitchen.
Sans nodded, looking at Frisk.
"Eh, what'cha got there kiddo?"
She flicked her gaze towards him, holding up the book.
"Just a old human fairytale." She whispered.
"Let me see it." Sans grunted, reaching out for the book.
He looked at the cover: "Mother Goose"
"Heh, I guess this is worth taking a gander at." Sans laughed.
Frisk stared at him, unamused. Sans cleared his throat, looking away from her. He studied the room around him, seeing how warm and...well...homey it was. He sighed, it reminded him of his house, except he had his eyes closed most of the time. He heard Toriel step back out of the kitchen, and sit in her squeaky rocking chair. He didn't look at her, still staring at pictures hung on the walls.
"Want me to read some of them to you Frisk?" Toriel broke the silence.
"Yes please," Frisk said quietly, handing her the book.
"You going to listen Sans?" Toriel asked. "Or will you fall asleep?"
Sans shrugged.
"Heh heh, Sure."
Toriel cleared her throat, reading cutesy and corny rhyming fairytales. Sans just stood there, facing the fireplace in front of him.
"Y-...Sans? You alright?" Toriel asked, placing the book neatly in her lap.
The skeleton nodded, hands shoved in his pockets. Frisk got up, hugging Sans.
"You..sure..?" Frisk comforted him. "You're...being so..quiet."
"Frisk, Tori, I'm fine." He turned around, hugging Frisk with one arm.
"Would you like some pie?" Toriel asked him.
"Make that two to-go please, Pap might be waiting for me." Sans chuckled.
"Of course," Toriel got up, placing the book down. "One moment."
She trotted off to the kitchen. Sans let go of Frisk, turning to towards the fireplace.
"Sans..." Frisk tugged his jacket sleeve.
"What kiddo?" Sans looked at her.
"Are you sure you're okay?" She sighed, cupping her hands together. "You seem deep in thought about something."
He placed a hand on her head.
"I'm sure kid."
"Two pie slices to go," Toriel warmly smiled. "Here you go Sans."
She handed them to him, offering to walk him home. He accepted, knowing he had things to tell her.

"Tori?" Sans began talking on the trek home.
"Yes?" She answered quickly.
"I feel...I feel as if Frisk is going to go down a dark path." He shivered.
"What do you mean?" Toriel asked, getting closer. "A dark path?"
"I feel as if she's going to turn, on all of us." He sighed.
"Sans, don't be silly." Toriel laughed.
"I'm being serious." Sans scolded. "She could kill anyone of us and we'd forgive her for it, just because she's a kid."
Toriel stayed quiet.
"Toriel, you could die, Pap could die...I could die." Sans shuffled quickly to his front door.
"Sans." Toriel stopped him.
"Wha.." Sans was stopped by Toriel attempt to kiss him.
He backed up, shaking his head.
"S-Sans..why'd you.." Toriel tried to speak.
"Tori." Sans cut in. "If in the event that did happen, I'd want to mourn you as a friend, not a lover."
Toriel was taken aback. She sighed, heavily turning around to leave.
"Goodbye Sans." She quickly walked away.
"Tori! Tor-...Forget it." Sans grumbled as he entered his house and closed the door.

[Asriel: Hope the ending didn't seem rushed >.<]
