a/n: flameheart!

Pebblepaw followed Lionpaw and raggedpaw. The trio had been given orders from Lilyheart to hunt.

Leaffall was drawing near, and Pebblepaw felt as if though the cold weather was teasing her, for none of them had caught a single piece of prey, and it was already sun high. Lionpaw had suggested that they go to a special place where he often hunted.

"Are we almost there yet?" Pebblepaw groaned. Her paws where aching. They had been walking for almost an hour with no prey whatsoever.  Raggedpaw hissed at Pebblepaw. "Can't you ever be quiet?" Lionpaw shot a glance at his brother, and then they continued.

Pebblepaw heard scuffling in the bushes near them. She turned to Lionpaw, who was watching the bushes. He leapt into them and then soon leapt out with a vole dangling from his jaw. Meows of congratulations rose from the other apprentices.

At the end of the day, they had a decent amount of prey. Raggedpaw had two catches, one bird and one squirrel. Pebblepaw had two mice and a vole. Lionpaw caught the most out of the three. Three birds, one mice, and one vole. As they returned to the camp, a few of the apprentices congratulated them on their catches.

Pebblepaw curled up into her nest. Today had been a good day for her. She curled up, waiting for a good dream. A good dream that would never come.

A/n: pretty good, right? Not much happened, but I did leave you off with a cliffhanger ;).
