-Lucy's pov-
There was something odd going on at Fairy Tail, but it only affected some people. Mostly the old timers, plus Laxus. Wondering what it was, I decided to confront Mira to see if she noticed it and knew the reason behind their oddness. As I walked up to the counter, I heard Freed approach Laxus, only to have his friend growl and snap at him that he just wanted to be alone. Sighing, Freed allowed Laxus to have his space. I took a steadying breath before catching Mira's attention. "Hey Mira, do you know why everyone's acting so off lately? Especially Laxus..." I quietly inquired of the white haired mage. She sighed and shook her head. "I have no clue, to be honest..." She replied, kind of sadly. I nodded, sighing. She looked at me, as if debating giving me some advice. "I guess if you wanna know, you should ask Laxus.... He seems to be in the worst shape...." She said, sighing. At this news I tensed. There was no way I was going to risk getting electrocuted over a question!! Mira must have understood my sudden reluctance, and put a comforting hand on my shoulder. "It'll be ok Lucy." She said, smiling comfortingly before walking off to serve the others. I looked up to where Laxus was brooding, and decided to ask him. I shook slightly as I walked up the steps, questioning the sanity of my decision, but found myself in front of the tall, muscular blonde before I could reconsider. He glared at me for a bit, before opening his mouth. "What do you want?" He snapped. "I-I wanted to know wh-why you're so u-upset..." I stuttered, betraying just how scared I was. His glare intensified tenfold, and I shrunk back a bit. "That's none of your goddamn business." He growled. I squeaked, nodded, and sprinted downstairs, terrified of the s-class mage. Mira looked at me sympathetically and sighed. "He didn't say, did he." Her question was more of a statement, and I nodded. She patted my head before walking off to give Cana another barrel of booze. While this happened, Natsu walked over, a job request in hand. "Come on Lucy! We've got a job to do!" The over excited pyro exclaimed. I examined the paper, before nodding in agreement. This had the effect of Natsu grabbing my hand and dragging me to where the rest of our team was, before we headed off.
-Timeskip-
We were at the hotel we'd be staying at when we heard a faint roar outside, and a small commotion downstairs. Natsu bolted up and started for the door. "Just where do you think you're going?" Erza demanded. "To find the dragon!" Natsu replied and ran out the door. It only took us a few seconds to run after the pink haired boy. When we got there, it wasn't what we expected. It was a two hundred foot long wingless dragon that spit acid. Natsu being Natsu, he tried talking to it, but the beast seemed to lack the ability to speak. Then we heard a distant shout. "LOOK OUT BELOW!!" a distinctly female voice called. We looked around to find the owner of said voice, but only saw them when they fell out of the sky, sword in hand, and impaled the eye of the dragon. The weight of her body turned the beast's head, and it keeled over on top of her, pinning her under its large scaly head. She thrashed, trying to get out from under it, her shouts muffled. An exceed floated down, stifling its laughter. Erza walked over to the girl, grabbing her legs and pulling her out from under the dragons head. The girl was rather young, appearing to be close to Wendy's age. The exceed flew in between the dragons forelegs, and flew back out with a diamond the size of its head. "Look (y/n)! We did it! You're finally done with your quest!" The exceed cried to the girl, (y/n), excitedly. (Y/n) shot up and took the diamond, before falling to her knees and crying. "We finally did it Ace... We finally did it.... My century quest is completed!" She exclaimed, making everyone freeze. Natsu was the first to come out of shock. "Why would someone make killing dragons into a century quest!?" He asked, offended. (Y/n) turned her attention to him. "What do you mean? That was a drakon. They're different. They're oversized acid spitting lizards that I've been killing for the past ten years. They'll come back in a hundred years, sooner if you don't remove their hearts." She informed us, gesturing to the diamond in her arms. I nodded, starting to understand what she was saying. But I still had one unanswered question... "What guild are you from, (y/n)?" I asked, calling everyone's attention to me. (Y/n) grinned widely, before replying.
"Why, only the best guild in all of Fiore. That's Fairy Tail, if you didn't already know."
