Flying. The wind roars in my ears, ands the lights below me are blurry. I fly at such a speed. The Ivory Haven. I'm going to kill her. Daeya. The palace is in sight, the front doors is surrounded by guards. I have both of my Silver Blades strapped in their sheath on my back. My black battle armor shines dully in the light of the palace.
I touch down on the steps to the palace of Daeya, and I'm immediately surrounded by palace guards.
"You are under arrest, Bullet," says one of the guards fearfully.
"Am I?" I say, pulling my Blades from their sheath," You wanna bet?"
The guards charge at me, swords and spears in hand. I swing my Silver Blades at throats and chinks in their armor. Every guard that tries for my wings, get sliced in half because of the titanium razor strips on the edge of my wings. After the guards have all changed into ash, I walk on through the doors. The throne room is empty aside from Daeya, James, and four people, tied, bound, and masked. Each mask was the same one that they wore on the night that we met. Ash, Damon, Jackson, and William were all dressed in their masquerade costumes from so long ago.
Daeya has a smile of peer confidence on her face. James wears a sneer to match.
"Bullet, good, you finally decided to show up," James says.
"I want them, Ash, Damon, Jackson, and William," I say menacingly.
"What about poor, baby Austin," Daeya ask, innocently.
"Austin is in the Void, don't play with me, you bitch."
"Oh, dear, the cat's out of the bag I guess," Daeya said, giggling," Normane must've told you everything. Damn. Joke's up boys."
Ash, and the others stood up, not bound any more.
"What do you mean by joke?" I ask, taking a cautionary step back.
"He didn't tell you?" Daeya laughed," This day is getting better and better by the minute. You see Jane, these boys have been working for me all along. I hired them to kill you that night at the masque, but you left too early. Every day for the next two years, they tried to off you, but didn't get the chance. I had Ash invite you to his masquerade, and then I sent James with Simon to apprehend you. How you survived those years in the cell still surprises me."
"No, that can't be," I stutter," No, not true. I-"
"It is, girlie," James sneers," Tell her boys."
One by one, my old friends unmask themselves and nod, until Ash is the only one that remains masked.
"Jane-," he began, removing his mask.
"No, stop. I don't want to hear this," I stammer, my eyes pooling with tears," Was Austin a part of this?"
"Of course," James says," He was there the night that you were arrested as well."I can stand no more. I pull the chain that held my dog tags and the family rings of the people that were once my friends, and I throw it at Ash. He fumbles to catch it as I turn away from them, tears falling from my eyes as I take flight. I bust through the once-beautiful skylight and fly towards Asylum. The sky around the Ivory Haven is a permanent sunset. The oranges and yellows blend into a perfect sunset. The darker the sky gets, the closer I am to getting home.
Upon my arrival, servants swarm out to welcome me. I had cried most of the way here, but I will not let my people think I am weak. As I walk, the servants switch my armor for my normal outerwear. My darmstadtium crown is set on my head, and the doors to the throne room opened. People bow as I walk in. Myra runs up to me and makes a quick curtsey.
"Excuse me, my queen," she says breathlessly," We've found Austin. He wasn't sent to the Void, my queen."
"I don't care," I say emotionlessly," Everyone get out! Go home!"
