Chapter Five- Entering The Den

Finishing the chase with my sister, I settle down on the couch with Shane. Him sitting down first then him pulling me down onto his lap. I rested my head in the crook of his neck and sighed. I never thought that someone like Shane would be interested in me but I was proven wrong not by me being his mate but a small part hoped he liked me before this.

"Do you need anything sweetheart?" Shane asked, running a hand up and down my side.

"No Shane, do you need anything?" I whisper in his ear.

"No but I do need to get back to the pack house to deal with Roselyn if she's somber enough," he growled.

I nodded and realized that he might need a little break from his family and friends in his werewolf life.

"Lily is staying at a friend's house and mom is going to be leaving for a bachelorette's party tonight. Maybe you could come over," I whisper then slightly nipped at his ear, "Chinese food and Netflix."

"I'm in. What time should I show up?" He purred and I see his eyes darken.

"5:45 at the earliest. Dad is going to be gone for another two days but I'm just giving you a heads up incase he comes home earlier,"  I pull my legs up to my chest and he wraps his arms around me.

"Amber, is Shane staying the night! If so I need to know before I leave!" Mom called from the another room.

"Yes!" I nuzzle my head into neck more so with him purring happily.

"I thought you were going to sneak me in?" He whispers.

Mom walks in with money and gives it to me.

"That is for dinner not for condoms, understand," she says with a wink.

"Thanks mom," I mumble. I can't believe she just said that out loud.

Shane nuzzles my head in comfort hopefully done with his sarcastic and nutty wit. My mom chuckles before walking back into the kitchen.

"Moms," I shake my head in embarrassment.

"Try having one with advanced hearing, it can become a nightmare especially when your annoying siblings are finding your private stashes," he growled.

"Like what?" Me being a curious creature I just had to ask.

"Romance novels, my calendar of cuss word of the month, and a picture of you in a bikini," he mumbled.

I started laughing at a forming picture of him reading a romance novel.

"You read romance novels?" a thought dawned on me about the bikini, "How did you get a picture of me in a bikini?"

"A lot of male wolves read them to past the time if they wish to save everything for their mate, virginity, first kiss. It holds back the sexual urges, that or jerking off. And about the bikini, I got that from last years beach party," he smirked as I blushed once he started talking.

I got off his lap and walked away to a bathroom. Locking the door I realized that Shane would have to resist the urge to bust down the door. Emptying my bladder, I washed my hands and looked in the mirror to see pieces of hair were sticking out of the braid. I had dark circles under my eyes and overall I looked like a mess.

Walking out and back to the living room to see that Shane was gone. I walked out and upstairs to see where he disappeared too.
