You know what's refreshing? Riding down the countryside in your Chevy pick-up and having the radio blasted with country music. Today I am 17 and I am on my way to Faymay's, my BFF. I actually call her Fay for short.
My mind wanders to infinity. I don't know what it is, but I am getting this feeling that someone is waiting for me. Don't you ever get that feeling? It feels as if this person is having a hard time reaching something and they need help. Wow! Infinity is crazy!
I arrive at Fay's with excitement running through my veins. We are going to Westworth's fair to celebrate my birthday. There are carnival games and the rides are amazing. The Twister, Melo drop, bungee spinner, bungee jumping, etc.
"Honk! Hurry up Fay!" I swear that girl can never dress faster to save her life. As I turn my head towards the house I find an excited Tommy coming straight towards my truck. Oh no! You can't be serious! Fay jumps into the truck. I give her a glare as she gives me a sheepish smile.
Tommy is Fay's 6 year old brother, if you were wondering. He's a little monster. You have no idea how much trouble he causes.
........
The first thing we do is drop Tommy off at his friend's. Phew! After I talked to Fay, I found out that he needed a ride to Shane's. Supposedly Shane called at the last minute and asked Tommy if he could spend the night.
As we pulled into the parking lot to the fair, my head starts to pound, feeling as if the world is spinning around me, then suddenly stops.
"Savanna? Are you okay?" I nod, trying to avoid talking, afraid to feel that terrible sensation again. I don't know what that was, but I heard a small voice calling to me. On the other hand that could have been a child wanting help from their parents. I shake it off. Enjoy this Savanna. You deserve it. You are 17 and you just passed finals, it is your time to relax and have fun. Before I know it Fay is leading me to Melo drop.
"Come on Savanna, let's go on the Melo drop!" Oh my the Melo drop. The Melo drop goes up more than 20 feet, then stops, giving us 30 seconds to catch our breath. Next drops us down half way and then brings us up once more. Finally dropping us down at full speed. In my gut I feel something might happen, but I decide to join my friend on the crazy train.
........
"Woo ooh!" My best friend screams and the whole time I am thinking... Is she crazy?
Before we drop the second time everything goes black, even though I can still feel ourselves being dropped. Then everything subsides, it isn't my life that flashes before my eyes, it's someone else's.
........
From what I can tell, there are two people, a woman and a man. The setting is a kitchen and right in front of me is a scribble and crayons. I believe I am a little girl, but not from when I was younger. No, I am in a different body and in a different place.
I believe the woman is her mother. She is by the sink, doing the dishes. The father is talking and all I see is a hand being swung towards his face. Why did she slap him? I'm pulled away and urged to pack my clothes.
........
Whoa! That was weird. No, it was insane!
