A month. A month of total ignore. Astrid Hofferson didn't mind being ignored. In fact, if it meant she could train without being disturbed, she would be glad if you did. But the trick was, she did mind, if she was being ignored from someone who meant a lot to her. Yes, you guessed it.

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third.

She didn't mind when Fishlegs was too lost in his books to notice her. She didn't mind when the twins were doing things far worse than Loki to bother about Astrid. She prayed that Snotlout would ignore her. But if Hiccup was the one who pretended that she wasn't there... that was something she didn't like. Hiccup was the only sane person on the island with whom she could have a normal conversation. Well, a normal for them, that is. But, she couldn't really blame him. He had a good reason to ignore her. She did lie to him. For weeks, even. And that was something she never did. But, then again, she did lie for a reason. As much as Hiccup could have helped, he would have wanted to pull Heather out, and she was so close to Viggo. No, they couldn't allow that. Her boots made a soft noise as they hit the boards, making her trip to Hiccup's hut. There was a reason they build their huts so close. The leader and the second-in-command needed to be able to speak to each other right away if something important came up. But, best friends needed to be able to be there for one another if something was wrong as soon as possible, even more right? She needed him. She really needed him. She didn't need him to stop being mad at her, she didn't need him to hug her or touch her or anything. She just needed him to talk. To say something. To say anything. She came beside his hut, finding that the door was open, and she saw him by the table, looking at a map. Toothless was curled around the heart, napping, his chest rising and falling slowly.

"Hey." She called out. She saw his shoulders tense, but he didn't turn around and he definitely didn't reply.

"Can we talk?" he didn't reply to this either. She sighed, and moved a bit, not standing outside of the hut anymore. "Please? I really need to talk to you." He turned around, his mouth opening, but he closed them, thinking against it. She took a step forward, but he took a step back, his face clearly showing he wasn't happy about her being there.

"Hiccup..." she pleaded, a tone in her voice that she only used for him. He turned to the side, watching the wall. "Hiccup..." she pleaded again, louder this time. He didn't move.

"Hicc..." she saw his brows furrow in anger, turning his back to her again. That set her off.

"Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third, can you please turn around and talk to me, Thor damn it!" she raised her voice, waking Toothless from his half slumber. He looked at her, giving her a toothless smile as he stood up to greet her; but then he saw Hiccup and his expression. He sensed the emotions coming from his rider, and they were clearly telling him that he wasn't that pleased with the blond. He decided against it, sitting down and giving Astrid an apologizing look. She was losing her temper, and she knew that if she yelled, that wouldn't get her anyway. She sighed, wrapping her arms around herself.

"I know that I made a mistake, and I know that I lied to you, and you have every reason to do what you're doing, but please, don't. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry for not telling you. I wanted to, I did, and I tried, but Heather... she thought it would have been better if I didn't tell you that she was spying on the hunters. You could have helped us, a lot in fact, but you would have wanted to pull her out, and she is so close to Viggo, and we couldn't risk it. I did what I did to protect her, because if her cover got blown, the next time we would have seen her without a head." She took a step closer, hoping to get a reaction from him. He did nothing, still staying bent over that map. She rubbed her face, not knowing what else to say. "If you think for one second, that I liked having to keep this a secret from you of all people, then you're wrong. You're the only person on this island that I actually care about."
