I know I said I was going to wait until marriage before me and Marqyse had sex but the temptation of sleeping next to his warm body every night pulled me in. I just couldn't take the teasing anymore. It happened.
I remember it like it was yesterday..
"You sure you wanna do this?" Marqyse whispered in my ear, but I knew deep down he didn't want to stop.
"Yes.." I let out slowly as he proceeded to go down on me.
We'd just moved in together and it was only a matter of time before we broke the place in right?
My body shook as this new feeling took over me, it was more intense than all the make out sessions we've had, even the ones that involved his fingers in the same place his tongue is right now. His fingers intertwined with mine as he did what he did best. In a matter of minutes he was in me.. I was giving him what I had promised to God I was saving for marriage.
It's too late to stop now, I thought. I let the heat of lust take over me that whole night, and I enjoyed it.
"You okay baby?" It was another morning after giving myself to him, but last night something stuck to me.
"Yes I'm fine." I turned around and faced him. "We've been together for almost 4 years now.."
He stared at me in deep thought, "where you going with this?"
"Well you know .. You know what my dad really wants out of this Marqyse, don't you love me?"
He sat up in the bed, rubbing his face "Yeah, I know he's waiting for me to pop up at his doorstep and ask for your hand in marriage. I know I know I know." He got out of bed and I watched him put on a tee and walk into the bathroom.
"Why do you always avoid this topic.. We live together for Christ sake. I can't keep giving you the perks of marriage without a wedding and a ring, and not a promise ring either."
With his toothbrush hanging from his mouth he looks at me," we're good baby. I'll do it when the time is right. Right now I'm just focused on football and getting back into what I do best, you know that."
I buried my head in the pillow next to me, I'm so tired of these lame excuses. On the verge of tears, I decided to pull myself together. I can't out this issue any longer. If it's meant to be it'll happen, if it's not it won't. I'm praying it's meant to be, I mean I gave this man my body, my heart and my soul.
He finished brushing his teeth and walked up to me and planted a kiss on my forehead.
"You okay with that?"
Deep down I wasn't, I wanted to be married now that way my parent would stop treating us like rebels and actually accept Marqyse as my Husband, not a boyfriend.
"I'm okay.."
"Good, now what you want for breakfast?"

"Bro, I'm Tryna tell you if you gonna move in with her make sure it's worth it. Cause I swear this life not easy."
Kameron shook his head, "You right but I've been thinking lately and I kind of want to ask her to marry me.."
"That's a big step, but if you really want Bianca to be your wife I say go for it. Id definitely enjoy being your best man" he chuckled.
"I should have been been your best man, you and Kiara should have been married by now, what's the hold up bro?"
I shook my head, not really wanting to get into all that. I mean I love my girl but I just ain't been IN LOVE with her lately. Only time we not arguing or discussing some depressing shit is when I'm giving her some loving and she still be hesitate about doing that with me. "We should be married but I wanna wait until we on good terms, I mean. We both just not too happy rn, Tryna make Myrtle beach work for us. I miss charleston, it was less stress out there. "
"Y'all gone be alright man , how about you go ring shopping with me. You can help me pick out a ring , and pick one up for yourself so that when you are ready to pop the question, you'll be set."
"Not a bad idea.. Good looking out fam."
"No problem bro, how about you call if you need help. You know me and Bianca only a call away."
"Already"
