Lightning Thief Luke's POV

New Camper

I quickly catch up with the group, luckily no one noticed that I was gone. "All right, is everyone ready to leave?" Chiron asks our group. "Yes," Answered the group. Good I can get the Hades out of here! And put is all behind me. Or at least that's what I thought.

As soon as we left Olympus the sky turned dark, with storm clouds. You want to know the truth?

Okay, the truth was it really felt good. I was going to show my dad (Heremes) why he never should have left! I had nothing left in this life! At least Kronos was treating me with respect, like I was important. And, gods, did I plan to have power, glory, fame! I could see it now, my dad working for me, gods that'd be the life.

Kronos laughed in mind, You have done well, Lightning Thief!

Lightning Thief? Really?

Well I guess I just stole the lightning bolt, so yeah that could work. Gods, it's a good thing that I'm good a hiding my emotions. That's what happened to me after Thaila died, I became distant from everyone and barely talked.

I still wish she hadn't died. We made such a good team, we could have shown both of our jerk dads.

Oh yeah, the old days, Thaila, Annabeth, and I running from our problems. Speaking of Annabeth, she's staring at me, smiling.

"Hey, Annabeth, what's up?" I smile back at her.

"Hey, Luke, I'm just thinking." She says pushing the button for the elevator doors, to go back to the mortal world.

"Thinking about what?" I ask.

"Nothing," she adds quickly. "Gods, I wish Thaila were here."

I was surprised, we don't normally talk about Thaila. We rarely even speak of her name.

I sigh deeply.

"Me too."

Which was the first true thing I'd said all day.

It was a few days after we got back to camp that Annabeth and I finally talked again.

Annabeth sat be the window and sighed. "I wish whomever the demigod is, I just wish they'd hurry up!"

I looked up from polishing my sword.

"They'll get here when they get here. You can't rush it."

She stares out the window.

"I know but..."

"But what?" I asked.

Annabeth jumped up out of her seat like a frog.

"There's someone new walking to the cabin!"

I sigh and inch forward, toward the window.

There was someone walking our way. A boy who couldn't be much older than 15.

When the he boy struts through the door, I now noticed he had an eyepatch.

Must have got in a fight with a monster. Most of us have a time or two before we stumbled across this place.

I had a mini flashback to the day Thaila, Annabeth, and I found Camp. Thaila sacrificed herself. And what did Zues do?! He is the most powerful god and he turned her into a tree. A freaking tree!!!

Yeah, he let her die. He watched her lay there and die. The gods are all the same. They only care about themselves. I'm different than them.

Yes. I was silently agreeing.

I walk over to the kid. "I'm Luke."

"Luke what?" He asks.

I swallow hard. I hate being compared to her.

"Castellan. What's your name kid?"

He glares at me for a second. "1. Don't call me kid. And 2. The name's Ethan Nakamura."
