Jake POV

"Jake what is up with you today man?" Cole someone on my team asked as we got our water break.

"Nothing" I said harshly.

"You know you can tell us, we're brothers man." that's true, my whole football team are like my brothers.

"You know that girl I have been hanging out with lately?"

"Yeah... Jenna right?" He asked sitting on the bench beside me.

"Yeah, well someone obviously told her that the only reason I started talking to her was so people wouldn't think of me as a jerk because I befriended someone like her who is unpopular. But that's not true! She doesn't even know how much she means to me! And when I saw her cry, Cole... If you saw her cry..." I couldn't even finish  what I was saying, the image of her tear stained face kept popping up in my brain and it nearly killed me inside.

"Jake I have known you for years and I know you're not a bad guy, I also know that you must really like this girl if you're getting so worked up about it." I just nodded as I stared out onto the field. "Make it right."

"I don't think I can. She was so hurt." I whispered.

"Do it Jake." He said before jumping off the bench and running back on the field. I Sighed and chucked my water bottle angrily before running back onto the field.

Jenna POV

I walked up the old creaking steps of the porch of my house. I gave the door a big shove before walking into the freezing house.

"Mom?" I yelled out. "Dad?"  I whispered. Nothing... not that I expected to be home, they are always out, I don't even think they live here anymore... but they wouldn't care enough to tell me they moved out.

I walked into the kitchen and grabbed a water bottle out of the fridge. buzzzzzzz, I reached into my back pocket and saw my mother was calling me.

"Hello."

"Hi honey. Your father and I will be gone for the next month... on business of course, but I left some money on the counter for you." She explained, I sighed sadly.

"We will, bye Jenna."

"Bye Mom." I  whispered on the verge of a break down. I just want someone to talk to. I can't talk to Taylor because she is probably with Rachel. And my parents don't care about me, I have no siblings and the only person I could have called my friend was just acting the whole time. I have never felt more alone in my whole life...

Jake POV

I threw on a new t-shirt in the locker room after practice. How an I going to apologize to Jenna? How will I explain everything to her?
"Jake?" I turned my head to see a confused looking Kyle.

"Yeah Ky?" I asked annoyed.

"Why do you look like a kicked puppy?" he asked teasingly.

"I messed up man." I ran my hand through my hair.

"With Jenna? I nodded and kicked the locker.

"Some idiot told her a load of bullshit and now she hates me!" I shouted.

"Jake, calm down." he said pushing me down on the bench. "What exactly happened?" I explained the whole story again.

"Who would someone tell her that?" Kyle asked frowning.

"Hell if I know! But I have to fix this. I just don't know how?" I groaned frustrated.

"Show up at her door step with a bunch of flowers?" he suggested lamely.

"We aren't dating." I mumbled. I wish we were, but we aren't. It's still too soon for that. And not to mention that she isn't talking to me at the moment . "I have never been to her house anyways."

"She lives right next door to Mitch." Kyle said "The little yellow house." He said proudly. I jumped up from my seat and grabbed my beg of dirty clothes.

"Thanks man you're a life savor." with that I ran out of the locker rooms and straight to my car.

I walked up the old stairs of her house an lightly knocked on the door. I watched as old chips of white paint fell off the door with each knock I made. There was nothing. No answer, I was debating on leaving or not... but I'm not giving up that easy. I knocked again, a little harder. When I didn't get an answerI tried turning the door knob, I gave the door a shove and it opened with a loud creak.

My eyes whirled around my surroundings, I looked around the room I was in and my eyes landed on a little mop of blond hair peeking out behind the wall, a small whimper escaped past my lips as I took a step toward her fragile little body, I walked closer and stopped as I was only a few steps closer to her, she looked down at her feet shyly before she gave me a small wave. "Hi." she muttered brokenly, my heart clenched in my chest at the state she was in.

"Hi?" I murmured, I took another step cloing my arms out. She instantly ran into them. I buried my face into her neck as she rested her head on my chest. "I'm so sorry Jenna. None of what you said was true. None of it, swear, you mean so much to me." I told her. "I can't tell you how sorry I am." I mumbled into her neck as I tried to hold back my tears. My arms tighten around her as her fingers grabbed a fistful of my shirt while she buried her face deeper into my chest, letting out quiest sobs. I held her tightly to my body as I rubbed her back soothingly. "Shhh, cutie. Don't cry... I'm here now." I mumbled. "I'm here,"
