Yuzuru's POV

World's are coming up, and I'm training really hard, trying to perfect my quad salchow.

I just can't land it.

We all know what's the problem, it's just that I can't get over my mental block.

What's wrong with me?

I spot Koharu at the side of the rink, gently slipping a small cup of hot chocolate on the rink barrier.

She catches me staring and winks at me.

Koharu is also very busy these days, since her exams are coming up.

She used to study in the office, but now she moves her entire mountain of books to the rink side, watching my practice as well.

Occasionally, she'll be in the office, completing some competition forms and other documents for us boys. She's absurdly good at it. And everything is always arranged neatly and perfectly. She's perfect.

Brian often teases us about our relationship, along with the other boys.

I enter my triple lutz.

One, two, three.

My blade lands, but somehow my boot goes over the edge and causes me to fall, hard.

"Ugh," I mumble, laying on the ice.

Nam skates over, scraping some ice on me.

"You poo, get up, do your quad lutz," he jokes.

"Quad lutz? I can't even do a triple lutz," I groan, getting up.

I rest a little by the rink side, sipping on the hot chocolate gratefully.

She never fails to understand me.

I turn the cup in my hands, and in scraggly writing I read:

For my Yuzu fruit ♥︎

I smiled to myself, grinning like an idiot.

"Our boy, finally in love," Javi interrupted, hugging me playfully from behind. He pretended to wipe tears from his eyes, before tickling me.

I slapped his hand away, poking him back.

Out of the corner of my eye, Koharu looks up, amused, pencil tucked behind her ear.

I grin at her, mouthing a "thank you" to her.

"Yuzu, get back here you dizzy lovebird," coach calls from the mirror.

A blush creeps up to my cheeks and skate away, scratching my head.

••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

I text her later that night.

Y: Are you at home?

K: yeah.

Y: have you eaten?

K: nah hahaha

Y: you wait there, okay?

I quickly pack some items into my backpack, and rush down the stairs, careful not to cause too much noise. Japanese are particular about this.
