Vladimira's P.O.V
My heart drops. "Somebody threatened me?" I squeak. Strawberry starts to twist inside me, pushing his limbs about wildly.
Who would want to hurt my unborn child?
There's plenty of reasons for someone wanting to hurt me, but Strawberry has done no wrong, he's an innocent soul.
Jared places a hand on my back and leads me to a chair. "We found it on the border of the land. It goes on to explain that this person, possibly male, is targeting you, and won't stop until he gets moon dust," He explains.
Glancing at my father, I see his eyes are indecisive, a mix of red and blue. "Well, are you going to give it to this person? The person that has been threatening me for nearly my whole pregnancy?" I ask.
He rubs his chin. "It's not smart to underestimate werewolves, but this could just be one of the few werewolves unhappy with the monarchy," He infers.
Possibly, or my child is really in danger.
"Doesn't matter really," My father begins again. "You'll have guards, more than usual, that watch your moves only," He announces.
Worry still flickers throughout me, though it dulls a little. "Father, what if this person is serious? What if they are truly intent on hurting me?" I fret.
He taps his fingers on his desk. "I'll protect you."
His blue eyes hold no lie, meaning he's serious about this. He'll risk his life by using his powers—something that the monarchs of other species forbid him to do since it gives him unfair leverage.
And it does.
Killing somebody is as simple as raising a hand for my father. He can manipulate peoples' minds and bodies, make them do something against their will.
"Okay."

The next days pass slowly, filled with my father restricting me from leaving the pack territory and at least three guards following me at all times.
Finally, a week after my baby shower, Lilli came over to help me set up the nursery.
Somehow, the walls were already painted and the decal was already on the walls, albeit the lingering smell of paint.
Lilac and gray mixed to make a beautiful, serene color, almost like rain mixed with a sunset. Add in the rustic decal and you have a beautiful scene of wolf silhouettes peaking out from behind trees on with the perfect, rainy sunset.
"Have you thought of names?" Lilli asks as she pulls the crib bedding out of the packaging.
I put my hand out for the bedding so I can put it on the mattress. "Aaron and Ulrik. Titus likes the first one while I like the latter," I explain.
How can I focus on names when I'm still reeling from the walk with Titus in the woods?
Lilli frowns at me. "What's wrong?"
Don't cry, I think as I smooth out the sheets on the crib. "Titus said we should leave our 'relationship' as just two parents raising a child. Lilli, I think I'm falling for him," I admit.
