(((Secret--The Pierces)))

I scoffed at how hard he was trying to gain control once more. All he would have seen was that stupid memory of his first transformation. I had to do this one job, anyway.

I weaved through the crowd, my hood up so it could obscure the obvious features that I had a bounty for. I saw the target, or rather, targets. I followed them for a while by a distance, until they reached their household.

They left the back door unlocked. Always did if they lost their keys. I watched as lightless windows turned a vibrant gold, until a final room turned the gold coloring to a tinged pink. I then checked my watch and counted the minutes.

-*-*-*-*

I slipped through the back door, walking right down the hallway. I paused at the door, and then opened it. The child was hardly the figure out was supposed to be. Exactly six inches under the average height, twenty pounds underweight. I knelt down beside the bed, and began the music. It always calmed me, no matter the situation.

" Got a secret, can you keep it? Swear this one you'll save! Better lock it, in your pocket...Taking this one to the grave." I sang lightly, as a mother would to a child if they were singing a lullaby.

The child's eyes fluttered open. Instead of fear, the child felt excited. Very excited. It saw me as a friend.
"If I show you then I know you won't tell what I said, 'cause two can keep a secret If one of them is dead..." I sang out, not lightly, but enough to cause a grown man have goosebumps.

I repeated the last line, letting the moment of realization hit the child. She opened her mouth to let out a shrill scream, but the pain was to o unbearable. I had made a clean cut along their wrists, both arms. I let a finger fly up to my mouth, signalling for her to be quiet. I then made another cut along the throat, thinking if I should spare the rest of the family. Of course not.

I stepped out into the hallway, figuring I might as well step into the room next to the child's, the older sister's room.

I grabbed the knife I had left in my pockets, my old one. I slid it in-between the shoulder blade. She woke up to the sudden rush of pain. She yelped, quietly. I stopped, confused. Then I realized. This child isn't just a victim of murder.

"Why do your smile as if you know a secret, now your telling lies, 'cause you couldn't keep it, of course no one keeps a secret. No one keeps a secret...." I spat, letting the fear engulf the eyes. The pupil decreased in size and they knew their inescapable death.

I watched as the emotion was drained from their body, blood still seeping out of their shoulder.

Silence seemed to rule the house as the knife cut right into the artery.

I left the girl to get inevitable death, and walked right into the seemingly endless hallway. There was only two more living people in the household. And I could promise you I was contemplating letting them discover the bodies before slaughtering them, and I really didn't make my mind before I heard a shrill, high-pitched scream.

The mother had found me. I hadn't had enough screamers, but then again it is fun."Got a secret, Can you keep it? Swear this one you'll save...Better lock it, in your pocket, Taking this one to the grave..." I murmered once again, my footsteps following the music as the rhythm sped up, allowing me to go to a full sprint. I stabbed the woman right between her ribcage before pulling it back out and going back into the wound.

The man was just around the corner, oblivious.

"If I show you, then I know you won't tell that I said..." I hissed aloud, watching the man shiver furiously. I grabbed the back of his shirt, the cold blade to his neck. "If one of them is dead."
