All the laughter that used to come out of her mouth was gone once she lost the bet. A frown replaced her smile, but no one could see it, for her whole head was covered by a stormtrooper helmet she has decorated in her own personal taste.

"Alright, you won." She sighed deeply, which came out mechanical due to the voice changer she added into her helmet. "For now."

She would've gulped down what was left of her drink, but she no longer felt like it. Losing always made her feel regret for even betting. Luckily, it wasn't a large amount of money, but still. Losing never feels as good as winning.

She stood up from her spot in the club, and headed straight home.

It was supposed to be light, bright, sunny, and warm. But since the last few hours, the sun was gone——vanished. Rumors swirled around about the apocalypse, but she believed non of that nonsense people around here said.

But instead of finding out what caused their sun to disappear, she focused on the effects instead.

Plants started to droop, and would soon die, leading to hunger, and death later on.

Without warmth, the planet would soon grow cold, and in an amount of time, there would be endless snow——just like Hoth.

What once was a busy suburban planet would be an inhabited frozen planet.

Either way, people will slowly die——wether they starve or freeze to death. Which means I must get transport quick, the girl told herself on the silent ride home on her speeder bike.

With a loud thud, she slammed the door shut, leaving dust flying around the small compartment she lived in. She threw her helmet at the barrel next to the door, which acts as a coat-hanger type of thing.

She was just about to plop down on her bed when a loud shattering sound echoed through the walls, making her head snap at the direction in which the sound was coming from. It definitely wasn't from her house or any of her neighbors. It was far too loud for a bombing anywhere nearby either.

Quickly, the girl put her helmet back on and headed outside, joining her curious neighbors who have gathered around the end of the street——where she lived——and the crowd started worried murmurs. Seeing that the ward was already in front of the crowd, he tried silencing the panic and chaos of cries.

The girl approached the ward, asking him what was going on, and he simply gave her a worried look, glancing in front of him.

It was a TIE fighter.

It had crashed landed in the middle of the trees of the forest that circles around their housing area.

The ward wasn't doing anything about it, so she decided she would take the liberty of checking it out for herself.

Heat radiated around her exposed skin, a warm feeling she hasn't felt since the last few hours that the sun had vanished. Dust and smoke filled the once fresh air, littering it with pollutants that made other civilians choke, while the girl approached calmly and carefully, her helmet filtering the chemicals——in case you were wondering, she had added a few glints on the helmet she wore, so it had a few extra features that a normal stormtrooper helmet didn't have.

As she stepped on either sides of the connectors between the wings and the main vessel, she tried calling out to anyone who would've possibly survived the crash, but no answer came——only the crackles of the flames on its left wing was audible.

She made a brave choice of opening the whole cockpit with her bare hands——only half of her fingers were covered with the gloves she wore. The dirt on the metal surface of the TIE made it even harder to open it. Her hands kept slipping, but after a few attempts, she deepened her grip and threw it open.

More smoke came out, causing her to pull her head back in instinct, but as soon as that was over, she squinted her eyes and looked around the TIE. What she saw made her widen her eyes in surprise, and she took a glance at the ward, who eyed her actions carefully, waiting for an answer to all his questions.

She saw the two occupants of the wreck had fainted, so she took the time to let more smoke fly out of the cockpit. She jumped off the TIE, and made her way towards the crowd of curious heads popping out——mainly the ward, though.

"It's Kylo Ren." The girl said, her voice void of any fear, although she knew even she couldn't deny that she had a tad bit feeling of worry that all things could go wrong and it would be the end of her.

The crowd started screaming this time, mothers telling their children to stay in the house, husbands telling their wives to hide and take care of their children——although some were mainly just panicking.

"Everybody calm down and get inside. I will deal with this." The ward nodded with assurance, though she could see behind his façade that he too was afraid, not only for himself, but for the other citizens.

"No." The girl put her arm out to stop him, earning a confused glare, "I will handle this. You're too scared to do this. Besides, if you die, who'll take care of the civilians? If I die, nothing's gonna happen." The ward sighed, knowing it was true, and partly, he sighed in defeat that he had to listen to her, but also because he was relieved he didn't have to face the fear of dying that way.

But before she could go any further, the ward stopped her again. "How exactly are you going to deal with this?"

"I'll save them, you know, check up on them, cure their wounds, etc etc."

"Are you insane?!"

"No. If we don't do anything, he will be left unattended, and if he finds out we did nothing to help him, we will all be dead." She pulled her hand away from his grasp and made her way towards the wreck.

She knew somehow that she was going to regret this choice some time later, but for now, she sticked to her guts and her guts said do the right thing.
