I came running into the restaurant, sweaty and mis- matched.

The same girl who seated us was still standing there. She smiled at me and shook her head, "He's gone, I don't know where he went, he just disappeared."

I chuckled a little bit, "I figured he'd be gone. Do you guys still need help?"

She nodded, "I'll take you to the back."

I was given a little outfit to wear and a nametag. I scribbled Sari onto the little tag and smiled at the people in the kitchen.

They all smiled shyly back and some waved at me. I stepped out into the carpetted floor.

"Hey!" Said Lisa For Drinks, "Do you want the section I promised you?"

I nodded a little bit, "Sure."

She handed me a little notepad and gave me a little shove. I gave her a look and she said, "Everyone needs a little push sometimes." She winked.

I started waiting tables. I checked up on everyone, made sure they had all been taken care of. Then after I had taken all the orders, I sat in the booth Louis and I had been in.

I made a noise like a laugh, but it quickly turned into an almost cry. Why? I'd just met him. I hardly knew him. Why was I already crying over him?

"Excuse me miss," someone above me said, "Are you okay?"

I looked up not bothering to wipe away tears. It was a woman in her mid seventies it looked like.

I wiped away tears quickly, "Nothing, I shouldn't even be crying, I think I'm just tired." The last part came out as a whisper.

She sighed and sat down across from me, "What's wrong darling? Have you been hurt?"

I chuckled a little bit, "No, I haven't, I guess I'm just not good enough, and I've finally figured that out."

She smiled into the distance, "I remember when I was young. There was a boy." I was not in the mood to listen to some sappy love story. I was hardly in the mood to do this 'job' but she looked happy, so I listened, "He was a touch younger than me, maybe a few months. He was quite popular actually. A football star. I wasn't a fan of him, but was he a fan of me. I had been shoved off my whole life, by people who thought I wasn't good enough. I had a look about me. And so did he." She paused to smile again.

"Oh." I replied, not knowing where this was going.

"I had moved to England with my parents when I was 9. I moved here from America, where my parents were lawyers, but their firm had been moved to London. I moved here with my big brothers. They're both dead now. Ed died when he was 42. He had cancer, he and I had never really gotten along. But anyways, I met this football star in the hospital. I was in there for my mother, who had just given birth to a younger sister. But she didn't make it through. The sister. We were all devastated. He was in for a leg injury. He had been in there for a long time, and he was in recovery. I walked by everyday to get to my mothers room, and I noticed him, and he noticed me."

"Uh, this sounds familiar." I shook my head, "It can't be."

"Let me finish my story darling!" She grinned, "We became close, and he asked my father if he could take me on an outing. Father said yes, and I went on the outing. We went to a restaurant, and we ordered, but we didn't eat there. We were kicked out for 'harrassment'. It was the funniest thing ever. We were both laughing like fools. So we went to the park instead. At the park I noticed a mother who was having problems with her kids. I asked if I could help in any way. Well, that made him furious. He was angry at me. So I left. Then I came back, and he wasn't there, and I got a job babysitting."
