Chapter 3

Ashley's POV

As I held onto Rose I hid my scent again. It seemed as though that is what caused her to stumble so I had to help her. All of a sudden I fell onto my knees as my head felt like it was going to explode. I whimpered loudly while holding my head. My whimpering seemed to snap Rose out of what she was thinking and she held onto my while I had tears streaming down my face.

'Lyra? Carol? What's happening to me!?' I yelled through our bond.

'We don't know. Maybe this means mate is coming?' Lyra questioned confused.

I was going to ask Carol what she thought but I couldn't reach her through my bond to her. I was starting to become panicked.

'Carol? Carol?! Carol!' I screamed.

'I'm here. Do not fret. Lyra is quite right. Our mate has arrived but isn't here. Get ready downstairs and go to school. That's all I can say to you. Rose shall also meet her mate today.' Carol said calmly.

I nodded and the pounding in my head started to stop. I sighed weakly happy that the pain submerged. Rose seemed to notice and helped me up on my own two legs, though they were shaking slightly. I turned to Rose happy to tell her the news when I realised I could be meddling with the Moon Goddess's plan for mates to find each other. I smiled secretly at her while she stared at me confusedly like I grew two heads.

"Let's hurry up before the bitch comes and banishes us to the car for being late." I informed her.

She nodded and went downstairs where Valeria and Lucy were waiting for us. Valeria looked towards us first while sashaying over to us. Lucy then followed her line of sight and clicked her tongue at us.

"Let's go already. We maybe late to introduce Valeria to the new Alpha of the strongest pack." She said sashaying out.

We followed but my train of thought was going in a complete different direction.

'What is with sashaying with those two?' I questioned Rose through the mind link.

I looked towards Rose and it seemed she was having trouble laughing out loud. I started making faces behind Lucy and Valeria's back becoming neutral when they were close to catching me. Rose couldn't take it and let out a little snicker without catching attention from the Devils themselves. It seemed Rose knew what I was thinking about because she sent a pointed and playful annoyed glare towards me. I knew it was fake but I couldn't help but give her my best innocent face which everyone, and I mean everyone believes, it's almost boring when you don't get caught.

'Maybe your mate won't fall for that innocence you seem to fake my friend. I will roll on the floor laughing at you when it fails.' Rose sent seeming confident through the mind link.

I snorted but that didn't go unnoticed by the evil villains themselves. Lucy turned to look at me but noticed we were at school already. She pushed me and Rose out of the car but hugged Valeria while in the car. Rose looked torn and heartbroken but I was beyond pissed and it seemed as though she knew it too because she sent Meagan, my other best friend, over to me to drag me in school. Meagan grabbed my arm and pulled into school. Rose was staring at me sending a me a sad happy look and it took all of my willpower to not break Megs hold and drag Rose with us.

"Let's go Ash! I wanna meet them hunks from the other pack." She said.

I couldn't help but laugh at her antics and her fantasies going through her mind.

"Maybe you might find your mate?" I questioned.

But I instantly regretted it. Meg got rejected by her mate because in his words not mine 'That she wasn't pretty or popular enough'. Let's just say he never looked at Meg again, because I may or may not have beat and scared the shit out of him. What never hurt my friends and I won't hurt you. Anyway Meg looked apprehensibly at me doubtfully.
