Chapter three

What was Derek doing in the halls? I didn't even notice him coming out of the cafeteria, he must have came out when I ran out. I was lost in thought that I didn't even hear him ask :
"Are you okay? What's wrong? " he actually sounded quite worried which I found cute - Wait what? AMBER DO NOT THINK ABOUT THAT. He is NOT cute.
" I - Uh... I ummm " I said stuttering. Why was I stuttering, I never stuttered!!
Ok calm down Amber.
" I mean, I'm fine "
" Are you sure, you did look like a red tomato when I saw you" he told me teasingly,obviously not beleiving a thing. For an unknown reason that made me blush even more.
" If this is about Tess, don't care about her, she's just pissed off that I broke up with her an-"
"Wait who's Tess ?" I abruptly cut him.
" The girl with the blond hair, skinny body, almond eyes, colored cheeks..." He continued.
" Okay, okay I get that she's beautiful and she's my roommate. Never got the chance to properly introduce ourselves. But if you don't mind me asking, why did the two of you break up?"
And I swear, it's like I have bad luck because exactly when I finished my sentence the bell signaling dinner is over rang. Everybody started crowding the halls and we got separated before he got the chance to answer. I really didn't want to go back to my room - where the wicked witch of the West would be - but knowing I really didn't have a choice I went there.
Once I opened the door to my room I heard the water running which meant Tess is probably taking a shower . Releived I didn't have to face her now, I decided to prepare my bag for the next day and my outfit. Pencils, pens, notebooks, textbooks, special art colored pens, emergency makeup kit, headphones... went in my bag. Now it was time to pick my clothes for the next day. I decided to go simple but classy :
Black skirt, black stockings, white sweater and red scarf.
When I prepared everyhing,about an hour had passed and Tess was still in the bathroom. I knocked on the door and told her to hurry up but all I got was " I am not hurrying up for YOU "
It was about 11 o'clock when she finished, I was exhausted and had a feeling she did it on purpose.
The only thing she said was " Done now, you can go ". I really had to contain myself from slapping that girl.

I woke up this morning at 6:00. I was very tired because last night I hadn't finished showering till midnight due to Tess taking her time. I got out of bed and noticed that Tess was still asleep. I grabbed my clothes and raced to the bathroom. I looked at my reflection in the mirror and noticed dark circles under my green eyes. My previously brown straigt hair was now messy. I decided to curl it for the day. Once I was done, I started putting makeup on. I didn't put any blush because my cheeks had a natural light pink color in them. I put a thin line of eyeliner and pink lip gloss. I heard knocking on the door but decided to ignore it since Tess made me shower late at night. While putting on the outfit I chose for the day, I noticed _ beleive me or not_that I was skinny. I had to put on some weight. Once done with my look for the day I went out of the bathroom only to be met with an enraged Tess. She pushed past me and entered the bathroom. It was now 7:00. Breakfast didn't start for another 30 minutes so I decided to explore the school grounds.
Deciding to be adventurous, I left my college map behind. I was going to discover campus by my own. As I walked through the wide hallway, the tapping of my boots echoed.
Even though I had already walked through these hallways_or ran_I had never noticed the banners stuck on the white walls. As I approached the wall, I realised that they were advertisement for the school clubs. So many option were laid out before my eyes : drama class, book club, chess club, cheerleading and a bunch of other sports that interested me.
Realising that it was already 7:10, I rushed to the main entrance so I could visit the park. So many trees, bushes and flowers were planted. The most breathtaking thing that I spotted was the turquoise pool. Suddenly, I had the urge to jump in. This might seem silly but I have never swam in a pool. There has always been a sea near me. Since I was wearing a skirt,all I had to do was move my socks and shoes. As quickly as I could,I dipped my feet into the water and started splashing the water. I was too excited to notice that a guard was approaching, a stern look on his face.
