Pretty Is

Chapter 7

Khanisse. She stood there with her robe open,skin shining from the water droplets. I sat up slightly rubbing my eyes.
"What's wrong?"
"Can you do my back please?"
I stared, seeing her serious expression and holding a clear cream filled bottle from the light of the setting sun. Dad always did say to take care of the guests needs,even if they aren't your own. And I didn't want any problems.
"Okay,hit the lights please." She closed the curtain and turned on my lamp.

"Where do you want me?"
"Just lay a towel or your robe anywhere across the bed and lay down." I got out the bed stretching and she got into the position.
"Um Khanisse don't you want to uhh cover your butt?"
She laughed a bit shrugging. "Why should I,it's just us in here and I know you won't do anything crazy. And girl just say ass."
I squeezed the cream from the bottle and rubbed it between my hands warming it up.

I didn't mean to but I couldn't help but stare at it. I hadn't seen one so big,then again I didn't have too many to compare to.
"Wanna touch it?"
I jumped at her voice and started rubbing the cream into her back.
"Nnn-no that's okay,sorry for staring."
"Girl it's nothing,I'm actually flattered. People don't ever pay my lil self no mind less I'm with Nelly."
I got more cream warmed before rubbing it in,finishing up.
"Why? I mean you're really pretty. And D would agree that your body was it."

She sat up facing me smiling."Thanks Ro,you know you really good at this. Got some magical fingers."
I shrugged and went to wash my hands. When I came back,she was under my covers. I turned off the lamp, ready to sleep on the floor.
She shone her phone light above us and laid on her side looking me over.

"What the hell you doing girl?"
"I guess my bed is more comfortable,so I'll just take the floor."
"No get yo ass up here,we can share. Like a sleepover." She smiled brightly.
I slowly got in the bed next to her.
"I don't know anything about sleepovers. And are you still naked?"My eyes widened slightly.
"That's how I always sleep and sleepovers are just when a couple girlfriends get together stay up all night eating shit and never sleep."
"Oh I guess we can do that."
"Great,so tell me all about this
D."

We stayed up all night talking,well she talked I mostly listened,but it was the best time ever. Khanisse was different than anyone I had been around. It wasn't just her eyes. She talked to me like I was smart,a somebody. And she didn't laugh at my scars or stuttering. Even though I was half naked and she was fully,I was comfortable. I just hoped it would last.

They next morning when everyone left Renelle asked me a ton of questions about what Khanisse and I did. For the first time in my life,I lied. It didn't kill me and lightening never struck me down. It made me rethink most of what I thought was true. I knew she believed me because she laughed after saying even a lesbian wouldn't want me. Then she showed me all her markings. She called them love bites. I almost threw up. They were red and looked like the markings from bugs dad used to toss on me. I told her to shower and when our parents returned I lied again,it was better than the alternative. I hoped all the lying wouldn't turn me into a heathen.
