"I'm going to the store!" You announce as you stride to the front door, your coat already around your shoulders and in the process of situation your scarf. "Is there anything specific you guys want for dinner or to snack on?"
"Eh, does Doritos count?" You hear Balz call, and you glance at his lazy form sprawled across your couch.
"Yes. Do you guys just wanna text me some lists or something?"
"Sure!"
"Hey, can I come with you?"
You glance at Devin and nod, not minding at all.
You'd woke this morning snuggled up to Chris, his arms wrapped around your waist as you slept. You could remember asking him to stay with you, but you'd been surprised to wake up and he still be there.
Not that you had minded.
It had been nice to not sleep alone for once.
Even if it was just platonic.
You wait patiently by the door as Devin grabs his shoes and coat, your phone binging as the guys proceeded to send you texts of what they wanted special, offering to give you the money for it when you returned, of course.
"REALLY, Ryan?" You scoff as you read his text, and he sends you a cheeky grin. You were pretty sure when you'd asked for a list from him, you hadnt asked for "your ass in booty shorts" to be an option.
You roll your eyes.
"Ready!" Devin announces, stepping to your side and looking very nice in his long jacket, making you feel a little shabby in your own worn one you'd had for years.
You had to admit, you were a little jealous of Devin, he always had his makeup to perfection or dressed immaculately.
Him and the guys were better at wearing and using makeup then you were.
Which was discouraging, to say the least.
"Okay, let's get going. We'll be back in a couple hours!" You call over your shoulder, making sure you have your credit card; you're sure it's going to be screaming by the time you reach the register.
"Don't do anything I wouldn't do!" You hear Ryan call teasingly, causing you and Devin to chuckle as you walk to the elevator.
Chris had still been asleep when you'd got up this morning, and you suspected he still was. You hadnt wanted to bother him, so you'd snuck around quietly as you dressed and fixed your hair.
And you didn't have to ask him what he would want, you knew already. If anything, Chris was consistent in what he did and didn't like, and that had never changed over the years.
Your relationship, for example.
Nothing had changed there.

"So!" Devin pushed the shopping cart in front of you as the two of you shopped, your eyes glued to your text messages as you tried to make sure you got everything on the list. He's looking at you pointedly, so of course you're focusing elsewhere. You know exactly what he's going to bring up and you wish he wouldn't.
"So?"
"How did you and Chris sleep last night?"
"Like logs." You try hard to sound disinterested with where Devin was trying to take the conversation, despite your heartbeat went erratic and your palms grew sweaty.
You didn't want anyone to know how you felt about Chris, especially not one of his friends! Sometimes you worry that it's obvious, that it must be all over your face when you look at him. Your ex apparently had no issues seeing it, and it makes you feel guilty; you shouldn't have wasted his time.
