"Wear this one!" Devin orders, jerking the dress from the back of your closet, and you frown at him, sitting on the edge of your bed. Devin had been in your room all day, going through your assortments of clothes, finding more comfy clothes then anything else. You frown at the dress he holds up.
It had been a gift from your sister, and the price tag still dangled off the side; it had been hanging in your closet for years, you'd never had any intentions of wearing it. You were confident in how you looked, but that dress - it was a little too skimpy for your taste.
It was black, strapless with a heart-shaped bodice, and it laced down the back, the skirt full and flowing yet still a bit short when you sat down. You'd gushed over it when you'd first received it, but there'd never really been a reason to wear it.
And you weren't sure this was the occasion either.
Besides, that dress had cost your sister a fortune, it was clearly something from one of her favorite designers, and you didn't want to mess it up if you and Chris were just going to hang out somewhere.
"Isn't it a bit too much for just hanging out?" you sigh, leaning back on your palms, crossing your legs. "I mean, we're not doing anything intense, just hanging out."
Devin made a humming sound in response, his back to you, which only made you suspicious.
The guys had been weird all day, murmuring to each other but shutting up as soon as you walked into the room. Chris had seemed fine until he'd started to realize how late it was getting, and then he'd disappeared into Devins room and had been there for several hours.
What was the deal?
It was making you nervous.
"Okay, what is the big deal about tonight?" You huff, slipping off the edge of the bed and walking to Devin, seeing he was going through your assortment of heels, holding them up with the dress before carelessly tossing them away.
"There's no big deal," he responds, eyeing your favorite pair. The heels were sharp, a shiny black, and they laced around your ankle to form a cute bow in the back; you wore them only one special occasions since you'd paid so much for them, and you'd die if they ever broke.
"Devin," your voice was warning.
He huffs, turning to glance at you over his shoulder, his hair loose and falling into his face, eyes narrowed.
"Dont' get all princess-y with me, I'm trying to help you," he responds after a moment, and shoves the dress into your arms. "Now, strip down and put this on! I wanna make sure it fits you like it does in my mind."
You stare at him.
"Um, no way." you mutter, holding the dress out in front of you; would this even fit now?
You weren't so sure you'd be able to breathe in it.
"And why not?" Devins hands go to his hips.
"Devin, I'm pretty sure I can't wear this dress anymore," you mutter. "Let alone get into by myself."
"How do you know? You haven't even tried it on! Now, go in there and slip it on, and I'll help lace it up," he orders, his hands on your shoulders as he guides you to your bathroom, your feet dragging. "And no complaining!"
Ugh!
You huff as you step inside, he closing the door behind you firmly.
Well, you were definitely not getting out of this one, then.
You sigh as you pull off your clothes, glad you'd at least decided to wear cute underwear before trying this. You pile your clothes in a corner as you step into the dress, grimacing as you had to wiggle it up your hips.
